Aria’s P.O.V

Staring at the Lich, it was easy to tell that he wa still as powerless as yesterday.

“…What do you intend do with me?” He asked as I just stared at him.

“Hm, For now I just want to ask you a few questions.” I told him.

“And once your use for me runs out, I’ll be erased, won’t I?” He said making me shrug.

“Depends, Though I’ll probably just let you.” I told him much to his shock.

“What?! You would allow me to leave after learning about you and your base?” He questioned as I held my head in my hand while now sitting at a table.

“Well it’s not like anything you learn here will really be useful since I won’t share that type of information. Also there’s nothing you can about our base, so yes.” I told him since the only way to get in here is with me and Tomoe, aside from my little one, but she stays here mostly.

“Now have a seat.” I told him as Mio removed his restraints so that he get up and sit in the chair across from me.

“Now let’s introduce ourselves, I am Aria Bloodhaven. These two are my companions and lovers, you can consider them my left and right hands. The one with blue hair is Tomoe while the one with black hair is Mio.” I introduced.

“So, what’s your name?” I asked him.

“I no longer remember my name from when I lived, and even if I did, it would no longer be something I can use. I am simply a lich now.” He said as I nodded.

“Then is Mr.Lich fine with you?” I asked him.

“Just call me Lich.” He told me as I nodded.

“Madam Aria, I do not mind telling you what I know, but in exchange for each of my answers, could you allow me to ask you a question?” He asked me as I raised a brow before giving a small smile.

“Sure, That’s fine.” I told him ignoring Mio’s aura behind me.

“…Thank you.” He said as I nodded.

“Hmm, Let’s see… Could you tell me why you we’re in the Forest Ogre Village?” I asked him.

“My objective was thr Forest Ogres lost technique. The power to quickly turn the root of a creature’s being, thier soul into a tree.” He explained making hum in acknowledgement.

‘So he was after Tree Punishment, understandable since it’s a really horrible spell.’ I thought.

“I concealed myself in one of them, and awakened the power, and observed.” He told making me sigh.

‘So he’s the reason the ability resurfaced. I guess I’ll really have nothing to worry about if I just take the ability from Mondo, but for now I’ll just place an enchantment on him so he can’t cast it.’ I thought.

“It was another step along my path to researching Grants, though it turned out to be pointless.” He said as I was curious now.

“What are these Grants you keep talking about?” I questioned.

“It’s my turn to ask a question, but no matter. Grants are a race superior to humans. They are said to be superior in every way.” He answered.

‘Hm, So there is a race similar to humans in this world… does that mean…’I paused and decided to pin my question for later.

“It’s your turn Lich.” I told him.

“Then I will ask two questions as well.” He said as I nodded.

“You identified yourself as a human, but from what I currently sensing it is way more than that.” He said making me understand what he meant.

I first let my Fox features show as nine bushy tails appeared from behind me and two furry ears appeared on my head.

I then went into my half dragon transformation. Allowing for a long white and gold tail with somthing similar to a spear or lance at the end to form. Two feathered scaled wing sprouted from my back as my armor molded itself around the changes of my body. Minor gold markings began to appear on my body as my eyes turned reptilian like.

Letting that form disappear, 6 spider like limbs sprouted from my back letting off a gold shine as they we’re the same color as my forms from before.

Then taking them back inside, my angel wings sprouted out of my back allowing for a halo to form above my head.

Dismissing this form, I then showed my hands and made it turn into a Slime as I turning into the full transformation would just make me a small blob.

Once that was done, I showed my Fairy Form which luckily I was able to control the size of.

Two glittering wings of gold lining and transparency appeared from my back as hair glowed a bit brighter as well.

Dropping that form I moved my hand across half of my face making a white white gold and black mask form on my face as it covered my mouth and some parts of my head giving me a menacing look as my eyes also went dark.

After that I dismissed those forms and went back to normal.

“As you can see, I am many things. Though I wish to be identified as human due to it being my first race.” I told him.

“Amazing.” He said as I remembered something else.

“If it helps, That brat of a goddess did say…” I was cut off.

“The Goddess spoke to you?! How is that possible?!” He questioned.

“Hm? Oh, well I’m not sure if this counts as evidence, but she’s the reason I can speak and understand every language except the common language. That’s why I’m able to sit and talk to both you and the ogres with no problems.” I told him.

“Now that you mentioned it… it felt so natural that I didn’t even notice.” He said as I nodded.

“Evidence aside that does answer my question. Please continue if you wish to ask somthing else.” He said as I nodded.

“Then I would like to ask why you killed Adonou. The one from the feast last night. You said something about being connected to a troublesome woman, do you mean demon?” I asked him remembering the information Mio gave me.

“Yes, The woman in question is a Demon Greneral, I’m sure you know what kind of force the Demon Lord’s army is.” He explained.

“War will likely resume again soon, so they we’re probably trying to secure more manpower by approaching the Forest Ogres.” He explained.

“War, aye?” I said as if that was the case I’ll have to careful not to get spotted or scouted out.

“Five demons that had been sent to the wasteland all vanished and the village they we’re try to recruit from was deserted.”He said making me sweat drop as I could automatically tell he was talking about the guys I killed and the Highland Orcs.

“The ones I killed we’re her underlings, in other word spies. While we’re on this subject, I was once asked to work with Demons but refused.” He told me making me raise a brow.

“Oh, is it alright for you to tell me all of this?” I asked him.

“That woman betrayed me before, so this is revenge.” He told me making me smile.

“I see, Well it’s your turn to ask.” I told him.

“I have two questions, so you can ask again.” He told me as I shrugged.

“Mind telling why you are so interested in Grants?” I asked him.

“Hm… I’m afraid I can’t answer that.” He told me as shrugged.

“It was worth a try.” I said as I held my hand up to stop Mio from making any rash actions.

“Well I guess I’ll just like to ask you a favor, but ask your questions first.” I told him.

“I’d like to know more about what you used to destroy me. No matter what I did, my spells, my mana, we’re just consumed.” He said making give a light giggle.

“Well that spell is actually one of my special abilities. You can consider it a Sin Skill. It allows me to take the concept of Gluttony and use it in any way I want to really. Whether it is for offense or defense. Doing what I did to you required some concentration since the otherwise the skill would have just ate you whole.” I told him.

“But wouldn’t it be more efficient to just match or counter my spell with you own. Alternatively to do such a thing wouldn’t it have costed 15x more mana then needed.” He said as I nodded.

“Gluttony isn’t a normal spell so I’m able to use it casually. I just choose not too due to how much effort I have to put up with it if I’m not in my Slime form or half of it.” I told him.

“So you mean to say that not only do you have such a spell that allows you to eat just about anything, but you also have enough mana to consume my spell and the mana the makes up my body?” He said as I nodded.

“That’s about right.” I told him.

“Heh. Hehehe… Hahahaha, Ahahahahaha!!” He laughed making me stare at his with a raised brow.

‘Is he going crazy now?’ I thought as he flared whatever power he had left.

“Don’t you lie to me! I am the incarnation of a spirit-” He was cut off as Tomoe put her blade under his chin and Mio placed her fan in the back of his spine ready to serve his body from his head.

“What do you think you’re getting at infront of the Young Miss?” Tomoe said as her blade was pressed up softly against his chin ready to take his head off.

“You think a mere spirit like you is comparable to the Young Miss? I ought to scatter your remains across the wasteland.” Mio said coldly as they both glared at him.

“Tomoe, Mio you can stand down, no need for such actions. It’s perfectly fine if he doesn’t believe something.” I told them as Tomoe lowered her blade but, Mio was itchy to take his head off.

Giving a sigh, I brought out my Fox features and extended my tails to grab the two away from the guy as I placed the right back at my side.

“I’m sorry for them, they are protective over me at times.” I told him.

“…What was the favor you said you wanted?” He asked me making raise a brow.

‘He’s done asking questions? I thought he would be a little bit more curious upon somethings.’ I thought, but shrugged since this made things easier.

“Your in pursuit of knowledge, and since you have been around for a bit you must have a ton on Magic, right? So if you have any grimores or spell books, could you lend them to me? I’ll make sure to pay you for them if need be.” I told him as despite my Magical arsenal I wanted see if there we’re any spells out there that was useful for me to learn.

Like they say knowledge can be a weapon to use in battle and with my wide array of skills and abilities having the knowledge on what and what not to use is pretty helpful.

“…Is that sarcasm?” He asked making me raise a brow at his words as I then turned to Tomoe as she tried to hold back a laugh.

‘Why are you laughing?’ I thought.

“You we’re able to cast spells of absurd efficiency and with far fewer words than the chants I composed.” He said as I looked over and saw Mio also holding in a laugh making me wonder what was so funny.

“If you can make use of those, which of my spells or knowledge would you even want?” He said completely down making give a sweatdropped expression.

‘I don’t think Gluttony is all that amazing yet.’ I thought.

“Listen I’m just curious on what types of magic are out there, currently I only have page of magic.” I told him.

“…Do you possess a page of forbidden spells or something?” He asked making me wonder how he even came to this conclusion.

Tomoe barely held back her laughter as I glanced at her with a slightly narrowed gaze before turning back to the guy.

“It’s nothing like, look I just wa-” I was cut off when I felt Tomoe place her hand on my shoulder with a amused smile.

“Young Miss, May I speak to you for a moment?” She asked as I turned towards her.

“What is Tomoe cause I’m very close to punishing the both of you.” I told her as my tails tighted a bit around theirs waist making Tomoe give a wryly smile while Mio blushed.

“Rather than ask for a few books, just ask for everything. In fact, demand this guy himself.” She told me making me raise a brow at her words.

“What are you even talking about?” I questioned as the Lich was even more downtrodden then before.

“Actually, I believe I know what he’s been searching for all this time, so if you just leave this to me, I can grant you exactly what you want Young Miss.” Tomoe said making me stare at her for a bit before sighing.

“Do what you want, baka Dragoness.” I said as she gave a smile at me before turning to Lich.

“Well then you wanted to know about grants, did you not?” Tomoe said peeking his intrest.

“That means you know of the other worlds that we’re not created by the Goddess, no?” Tomoe said making the Lich’s no existent eyes widen.

“Bullseye.” She said hitting the nail right on the mark.

“…” I stayed silent as I was now curious upon this was going as my previous world was one that the Goddess did not occupy.

“You spent countless years going through many materials, searching various documents and legends before thinking of a definition for the beings you call Grants. That Grants are a race superior to humans and have the power to freely travel between worlds.” Tomoe said.

“Th-That’s right! As a grant, I would be able to travel to any world I wish to! Am I wrong?!” The Lich said as I let Tomoe’s words sank in.

‘A world traveling race? That’s impossible especially since Lord Tsukuyomi said I would never be able to go back.’ I thought and sure enough.

“You are.” Tomoe told him.

“There are two types of Grants. The first are strong heros whose deeds are recognized by the Goddess or another powerful being and are then taken in and reincarnated by them.” Tomoe explained.

“The other is someone who learns of the small tear in the world or of the existence of other worlds that they should not know of. From the records left by visitors from those worlds. They can cross the gap between worlds becoming a new being that lives in another world.” Tomoe explained shocking Lich.

“Wh-What? Then…” He trailed.

“That’s right, Grant refers to superior beings that reincarnated themselves. They are not a special race nor do they inherently possess the ability to travel worlds.” She told him.

“No…” He said completely in disbelief.

“There we’re some humans that independently learned of this and looked into the kaleidoscope that is the gap between worlds, some of them even returned here. They probably spent a little time in another world before coming back to this world. While they would not be considered Grants, They claimed they we’re in the documents.” She explained.

“You mistakenly relied on those records and misunderstood what a grant is. Attempting to reveal this sort of information to the world would result in you being purged though.” She told him.

“…Wh-What about the ones who didn’t return?” He asked.

“If they traveled to another world, they lived there as a Grant, If they died in the space between worlds, their human bodies were simply scattered there.” She answered him.

“Though there are exceptions to those crossing space.” She said.

“Exceptions? What are those exceptions?! What are their circumstances?!” He asked mustering hope that his wish could come true.

“The one exception I know of is receiving permission from the Goddess, but even if the Goddess opens a path for you and you have a better chance of getting through without being torn apart. It seems the survival rate isn’t even 10%” She told him making me click my teeth.

‘So it’s completely suicide basically.’ I thought.

“So then…” He trailed as he was now completely depressed.

‘Seems he didn’t wish for eternity, but something else in another world’ I thought.

“I won’t force you to reveal what you we’re after, but you, like Mio, were fortunate enough to encounter The Young Miss.” Tomoe told him.

“Me?” Mio questioned as I sighed and patted her head with my tail.

“Before forming her contract, Mio was the Black Spider Of Calamity. A being with no hope of salvation, just like you.” Tomoe told him.

“The Black Spider Of Calamity?!” Lich shouted out shocked

“Now who do you think I was before? Try guessing from my Mana.” She told him as she began to leak some out.

“…A Dragon… A Powerful one at that… Wh- it can’t be!” He said as Tomoe smiled.

“Correct, I am Shin, but because of my contract with the Young Miss, I now call myself Tomoe.” She told him with a grin.

“Shin?! One of the two phantasmal Dragons, The mist Dragon? The undefeated Shin?!” He said completely shocked.

“There’s no need to think. If your desire is still there, just form a contract and serve the Young Miss.” She said making my eyes widen before I face palmed.

‘Why am I not surprised?’ I thought.

“…Wait if a powerful Dragon and the Black Spider posses those forms, doesn’t that mean that Madam Aria is the superior in thr contract?” He asked.

‘I’m not even going to, but into this. Their minds are already set on this.’ I thought.

“Indeed, we are servants in a control contract.” Tomoe told him as I promised myself internally that I’ll make Tomoe to sore to do anything the next 2 days.

“Control?! Just who is Madam Aria? No more importantly, even if I may be a great Lich…” He was cut off as the contract ritual suddenly started.

“…10:0, just fodder, huh? You’ll just be absorbed into the Young Miss and nothing will remain of you.” Tomoe said.

“Having somthing mixed into the Young Miss is no small matter!” Mio told Tomoe making her turn towards me.

“Young Miss, Can you weaken your power?” She asked me.

“I can try.” I told her as I used a weakening Sakai.

“Does this work?” I asked her.

“A pale light… seems he’s gone up to slave. A puppet with no will is worthless.” Tomoe said.

“Tomoe is there any point to this? Regardless of how powerful he may be, he’s just an undead and we already know all about the mana comprising him.” Mio said as Tomoe gave a small grin.

“Now, now, don’t say that, I actually have an idea.” Tomoe said as she went into my room and came back with some of my used Rings.

“Aren’t those the Young Miss’s used rings?” Mio questioned as Tomoe gave them to Lich.

“Lich put on all those rings.” Tomoe told him.

“There’s 13 of them and I only have 10 fingers.” Lich told her.

“Just put extra rings on some of your fingers then.” Tomoe told him as he quickly did such.

“Now, Mio…” Tomoe whispered into her ear and for some reason I couldn’t hear them.

“I think I could…”Mio said making me confused on what they we’re talking about.

Soon Mio went behind the Lich as Tomoe went to the side.

“Here we go.” Tomoe said as immediately Mio began to chant something behind Lich.

“Mio? Why are you…”I trailed when suddenly the light went red.

“That means it’s a control contract, so we succeeded.” Tomoe said making a bit surprised on how this happened.

“…Tomoe, giving him face mana is rather difficult, so let’s leave the celebrating for later.” Mio said making my eyes widen.

“Wait? Your faking how much mana he actually has?” I questioned as I didn’t think it was possible.

“You’re tampering with the contract?! How can you do that without preparations?!” Lich questioned as well.

“I just can, is that a problem?” Mio said as I face palmed.

‘It’s always my girls.’ I thought.

“Young Miss, form the contract!” Tomoe told me as I nodded.

“…Will you really take me as your servant?” Lich asked.

“I see no problems with it, who knows I might need that knowledge of yours.” I said as soon the contract was started.

Soon, From the bright light a man’s form was shown.

Though he was totally nude.

“I feel warm. This is the warmth of life…” He said as before I could say anything I had my eyes covered.

“Aye you two?! What’s the big idea?! Did you forget I have one of those?!” I said as Mio and Tomoe just continued to cover my vision.

“Ooh so this is how it turned out.” Tomoe said.

“Wait, is this not his original form?” Mio questioned.

Soon I was able to just shrink down to my small Fox form allowing me to notice something.

“What happened the rings?” I asked.

“Were they absorbed into your body when it was formed?” Tomoe said as an idea.

“Those rings we’re just bundles of the Young Miss’s mana, I doubt they will have any negative effects now that you serve her.” Mio told him as I just sweat dropped.

‘Is it really?’ I said in my head as I quickly made and passed some clothing to the guy.

“Mistress Aria, I- No, I thank you for accepting me as your servant. Also for taking so long to greet the Mistress that granted me this power, I will work even harder as an apology. I hope you treat me well.” He said with a smile as I nodded.

“No need to be so formal, I’m not really with it, but I do hope we get along.” I told him with a soft smile of my own.

“Yes!” He said bowing to me.

“Well, do you regret anything, Lich?” Tomoe asked with a grin.

“We’ll teach you plenty from now on, especially the rules for how to behave around the Young Miss.” Mio said making me sweat drop.

‘There’s rules for me? Actually why am I not surprised…’ I thought as these two have been taking the fact that their my lovers to very great heights especially in their protectivness over me.’ I thought.

“Young Miss, would it be fine if I told the slow Mio and former bundle of bones what I know about you?” Tomoe asked me making my eyes widen a bit.

‘Hm, Thinking on it now I’ve shown Mio some of my memories, but I still haven’t mentioned where I from.’ I thought.

“…Young Miss.” Tomoe said making me glance back.
