Chapter 13
Jennie adjusted her phone against the small stand on her vanity, checking her reflection one last time before pressing the “Go Live” button on Instagram.
Within seconds, hearts flooded the screen.
“Hi guys~” Jennie Kim greeted, her voice soft and playful as she waved. “It’s been a while, right?”
Comments rolled endlessly—fans screaming, asking questions, complimenting her outfit, her hair, everything.
Jennie giggled. “Okay, okay, I’ll answer some questions.”
She leaned closer to the camera, reading. “What am I doing today? Hmm… nothing much. Just relaxing at home.”
What she didn’t mention was that she wasn’t exactly alone.
Across the apartment, completely unaware of the live broadcast, Lisa Manoban was quietly doing her own thing—well, “quietly” by Lisa standards.
Jennie continued chatting, smiling warmly as she interacted with fans. “Did I eat already? Yes, I did. I made something simple—well… I tried.”
She laughed at herself.
Meanwhile, faint footsteps echoed behind her.
Jennie didn’t notice.
But the fans did.
The comment section suddenly went wild.
“WHO IS THAT???”
“SOMEONE’S BEHIND YOU!!”
“LISA???”
“LALISA???”
Jennie blinked, confused. “Huh? What do you mean?”
Before she could turn—
Lisa casually walked into the frame in the background, wearing an oversized hoodie, hair slightly messy, holding a bowl of snacks.
She stopped mid-step.
Jennie froze.
Lisa froze.
The world froze.
Lisa slowly looked at Jennie… then at the phone… then back at Jennie.
“…Are you live?” she mouthed.
Jennie’s eyes widened in horror.
“Yes,” she whispered back.
A beat of silence.
Then—
Lisa gasped dramatically, nearly dropping her bowl. “WHAT?!”
Jennie immediately tried to keep it together, forcing a smile while internally panicking. “Guys—uh—this is—”
Lisa, however, had already gone into full chaos mode.
She ducked behind the couch like a startled cat.
The comments exploded.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA”
“LISA IS PANICKING”
“THIS IS SO CUTE”
“WE CAUGHT HER”
Jennie couldn’t hold it anymore. She burst into laughter, covering her mouth. “Oh my god…”
From behind the couch, Lisa peeked out slowly, her eyes wide and suspicious like she was checking if it was safe.
“…Are they still watching?” she whispered loudly.
Jennie nodded, still laughing. “Yes. Millions of them.”
Lisa groaned and hid her face. “Noooo, I look like this!”
Jennie turned the phone slightly. “You look fine!”
Lisa immediately stood up and rushed over, trying to fix her hair with one hand while holding her snack bowl with the other.
“Wait, wait, don’t show me yet—” she said, but it was too late.
She was already fully in frame.
Jennie smiled mischievously. “Everyone, look who decided to appear.”
Lisa sighed dramatically, then gave a shy wave. “Hi…”
The comment section practically broke.
“LALISA!!!”
“JENLISA REAL”
“THEY’RE TOGETHER???”
“THIS IS SO DOMESTIC”
Lisa glanced at the screen and then at Jennie, narrowing her eyes playfully. “You didn’t tell me you were live.”
Jennie shrugged innocently. “You didn’t ask.”
Lisa gasped. “Unfair.”
Jennie smirked. “You just walked in like you own the place.”
Lisa raised an eyebrow. “I do.”
Jennie choked on her own laughter, quickly looking away from the camera. “Hey—don’t say things like that!”
Lisa grinned, clearly enjoying this now.
She plopped down on the couch behind Jennie, casually munching on her snacks like nothing happened.
“Hi guys,” Lisa said again, this time more confidently. “Did you miss me?”
Jennie shook her head, smiling fondly despite herself. “They were watching me.”
“Hmm,” Lisa hummed, leaning her chin on Jennie’s shoulder. “Not anymore.”
Jennie stiffened slightly at the sudden closeness, her ears turning pink.
“Lisa…” she whispered.
Lisa blinked innocently. “What?”
“You’re too close.”
“And?”
Jennie glanced at the screen, where comments were now moving at lightning speed.
“OH MY GOD THEY’RE SO CLOSE”
“THIS IS NOT A DRILL”
“JENNIE IS BLUSHING”
Jennie quickly tried to regain composure. “Okay! I think that’s enough for today—”
Lisa grabbed her wrist gently.
“Wait,” she said softly.
Jennie looked at her, surprised.
Lisa smiled—soft, warm, and completely different from her playful teasing earlier.
“Let me stay for a bit.”
Jennie hesitated… then sighed, smiling back.
“…Okay.”
Lisa beamed and scooted even closer, resting comfortably beside her.
Jennie shook her head, but her eyes were full of fondness.
“See what you did?” Jennie muttered. “You turned my calm live into chaos.”
Lisa grinned. “You love it.”
Jennie rolled her eyes.
“…Maybe.”
And as the hearts continued to flood the screen, the two stayed like that—close, soft, and undeniably happy—completely forgetting that millions of people were watching them fall into their own little world. 💗
