Chapter 31
Dinner on the roof terrace
Leonora PoV:
The flight was over sooner than I expected. But, to be honest, I fell asleep at one point. I had cuddled up to Clarissa, my hands hidden under her shirt and my face in her neck. And I found myself in this position when I woke up again, due to Clarissa shaking my arm softly.
“I don’t wanna get up…” I mumbled, nuzzling my face more into her neck. “Well, sadly we don’t really have a choice. C’mon, you can go back to sleep in the hotel.” She gave me a soft kiss on the side of my head before sitting up. My hands slipped out from her shirt and I sighed, following her movements with a yawn.
Our luggage was already loading into a car, which seemed to bring us to the hotel and not a second later, we were on our way. The sceenery was beautiful. Although I could do without the heat. Clarissa on the other hand didn’t seem to mind at all.
As we reached the hotel, I watched the staff grab our stuff. They all seemed to know Clarissa. Which wasn’t really suprising to me, I bet this wasn’t her first time going on vacation here.
It only took a short bit of talking until we got our key cards and were on our way. “Penthouse suite?” I asked as we got into the elevator. She only nodded, taking ahold of my arm. “Has the best interior. And the most privacy.” She whispered the last part, almost directly into my ear. A shiver ran down my spine, as I turned my head to the side.
When the elevator doors opened again she pulled me out with her. The door to our suite was already open and the hotel staff walked our right at this moment. “Your luggage is in the room. Enjoy your stay.” The two men bowed slightly before they left. I felt a bit weird at that. No one ever treated me this way, besides Clarissa sometimes.
Walking into the room, I couldn’t help but stare. The interior was made out of mostly black marble, but there was no heat in the room. “Wow…” Clarissa chuckled as she walked in behind me, closing the door behind her. “Impressive, isn’t it? Our home for the next two weeks.” “I still can’t believe I am really here.”
She wrapped her arm around me from the side, her head leaning against my shoulder. “I think this is the first time I ever took vacation and really went somewhere besides staying home.” I relaxed at her touch, giving her a soft kiss on the head.
“Do you miss your cats already?” “Yes. It seems so lifeless in here.” Walking over to the bed, I sat down on it. “Don’t worry. I can bring life into here if you need it.” She placed down her back pack, giving me a knowingly smirk. With a red face, I laid back down, sighing at the softness of the bed.
We spend some time unpacking our stuff before Clarissa went into the bathroom. It was afternoon by now and we wanted to go out and eat. I changed into something comfortable, a lose t-shirt and some shorts. Normally, with this weather, you would expect Clarissa to do the same. But no, she came back out, wearing the most stunning dress I have ever seen.
“Wow… You look hot.” She smirked, walking over to me. “I can say the same to you.” “No you can’t. I look like some idiot next to you. Give me a few minutes and I’ll change.” Her hands took ahold of my waist as she shook her head. You could imagine how much I blushed.
“No. I don’t want you to change. You look good, Nora.” I sighed into the soft kiss she gave me. “Okay?” Nodding, I walked over to the night stand to grab my glasses. “I guess we can go then. I am hungry.” “Grab your camera and we can go.” She nodded over to my suite case. With camera in pocket and my arm wrapped around her, we walked out of the room.
Outside of the hotel, the same driver from the airport waited for us. We got in and Clarissa told him where to go before she settled back down next to me.
As we drove, I watched the scenery pass by. The sun made the sky glow as it disappeared behind the horizon and the water seemed lovely to swim in.
Houses and shops flew by and soon we reached the restaurant. As I got out, I looked around. For someone who couldn barely afford a small apartment, everything about this was amazing. And I couldn’t feel more guilty for enjoying it. I knew that for Clarissa, this was like a five dollar payment on the side.
“C’mon, I thought you were hungry.” Interwining her hand with mine, she pulled me with her inside the restaurant. A waiter greeted us and soon after that, we sat outside on the roof terrace. The view you had from up here was beautiful. You could see the sun finally completely disappear behind the horizon and the sky turn darker, revealing the stars.
“Order whatever you want. No limits.” Her smile was warm and I felt like a little kid that was allowed to get a new toy.
Looking through the menu and ordering, I started to get lost at watching the stars. “You never really see them in the big city,” I mumbled mindlessly. “The light pollution is to much. But look at that. So many stars. It is beautiful.” She chuckled, thanking the waiter as we got our drinks before paying her attention back to me.
“I know what you mean. Sad, really. But this is the world we life in today. I sometimes wish I could stay here or at all the other places I wisited, just the see the stars at night.” I turned my head back to her, smiling. “Sometimes you sound like a kid.” “Are you telling me I am old again?” Even though I was shaking my head, I knew that my face was betraying me.
“Just wait until we are back in the hotel. I’ll make you pay.” “Can I save myself with kisses?” She chuckled, taking a sip of her wine. “Maybe. We’ll have to see.” There wasn’t much we talked about until we got our starters. Which, maybe sounding weird, I was really excited for.
The rest of the evening went by smoothly. At the end, we ordered some ice we ate together and just sat there on the roof terrace, watching the stars. If the rest of the two weeks would go like this, I was sure I would never want to go back. This woman had her influence on me. And if it was good or bad, I haden’t decided for myself yet.
