Chapter 151

The questions never stopped after that.

Ever since learning about her “tummy era,” Ruby had become obsessed with Baby Ruby Lore.

So during breakfast, while Jennie Kim drank coffee and Lalisa Manobal tried feeding the very spoiled corgi Mochi, Ruby suddenly climbed onto Jennie’s lap with serious eyes.

“Mommy…”

Jennie already looked nervous. “Yes, Baby Mandu?”

Ruby took a deep breath dramatically.

“Did I cry as a fluff mandu everyday? Or I well behave mandu?”

Lisa immediately SNORTED.

Jennie started laughing into her coffee cup.

Ruby frowned instantly. “Why laughing?!”

Lisa put Mochi down and walked over with the grin of someone ready to expose secrets.

“Baby,” Lisa said carefully, “you were adorable.”

Ruby smiled proudly.

“But,” Lisa continued, “you cried over EVERYTHING.”

Ruby gasped so loudly Mochi barked.

“I DID NOT.”

Jennie nodded while laughing. “You absolutely did.”

Ruby crossed her arms dramatically. “Fake news.”

Lisa immediately started counting on her fingers.

“You cried because Mommy put you down for three seconds.”

Ruby blinked.

“You cried because your sock felt weird.”

Ruby looked offended already.

“You cried because Mommy sneezed too loudly.”

Jennie burst out laughing at the memory.

“And one time,” Lisa continued dramatically, “you cried because Mochi walked away from you.”

Ruby looked horrified. “He abandoned me!”

“HE WENT TO DRINK WATER.”

Ruby still looked deeply betrayed.

Jennie gently pinched her cheek. “You were very emotional.”

Ruby pouted. “I was baby.”

“That was your excuse for everything,” Lisa teased.

Ruby immediately defended herself. “Because I WAS.”

Jennie nodded wisely. “Fair point.”

Then Ruby narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

“But was I good baby?”

Jennie and Lisa immediately softened.

“Oh, sweetheart,” Jennie whispered warmly, brushing Ruby’s fluffy hair back. “You were the sweetest baby.”

Lisa nodded. “Very clingy. Very dramatic. Very loud.”

Ruby huffed.

“But also very loving,” Lisa added softly.

Jennie smiled at the memories.

“You always wanted cuddles,” she said. “You slept better when Mommy held your cheeks.”

Ruby immediately grabbed Jennie’s face with both tiny hands.

“Like this?”

“Exactly like that,” Jennie laughed softly.

Lisa sat beside them and leaned her head on Jennie’s shoulder.

“You also hated when Mommy left the room.”

Ruby gasped quietly. “Even as baby?”

“You’d look around for Mommy immediately,” Jennie said fondly. “The second you heard my voice, you’d calm down.”

Ruby melted into Jennie’s chest like warm dough.

“I love Mommy…”

“I know, baby.”

Lisa pretended to wipe fake tears dramatically. “Meanwhile I worked SO HARD to become your favorite too.”

Ruby immediately looked at her Mama seriously.

“You my favorite too.”

Lisa gasped happily. “REALLY?”

Ruby nodded wisely. “Mommy my home favorite. Mama my chaos favorite.”

Jennie laughed so hard she almost spilled coffee again while Lisa looked ridiculously proud.

“I accept this title.”

Ruby then looked thoughtful again.

“So… I cry everyday?”

Jennie and Lisa exchanged looks.

“…yes,” they answered together.

Ruby collapsed dramatically onto Jennie’s shoulder in betrayal.

“Oh no…”

“But not because you were bad,” Jennie quickly reassured her. “Babies cry because it’s how they talk.”

Lisa nodded. “You cried when hungry, sleepy, cuddly, uncomfortable-“

“Or dramatic,” Jennie added.

Ruby pointed at her accusingly. “Mommy!”

Jennie giggled.

Then Lisa suddenly smirked.

“You know what’s funny?”

Ruby blinked. “What?”

“You still cry the same way now.”

Ruby gasped loudly.

“I DO NOT.”

Lisa copied Ruby perfectly:

“MOMMYYYYYY she looked at me weird-“

Jennie collapsed laughing instantly.

Ruby turned red in embarrassment.

“MAMA STOP.”

“And then,” Lisa continued mercilessly, “‘Hold my cheeks or I can’t sleep!'”

Ruby buried her face into Jennie’s chest immediately.

Jennie hugged her tiny dumpling protectively while laughing.

“Aigoo, my clingy baby.”

Ruby mumbled dramatically into Jennie’s shirt, “I was born emotional…”

“You were born a Kim,” Lisa teased.

Jennie gasped in fake offense while Ruby looked proud instead.

Then Ruby suddenly lifted her head again with sparkling eyes.

“Did you two still think I was cute even when I cried a lot?”

The room instantly softened.

Jennie kissed Ruby’s forehead gently.

“Especially then.”

Lisa wrapped both arms around them tightly.

“You could cry a million times,” Lisa whispered softly, “and we’d still think you’re the cutest fluff mandu in the world.”

Ruby smiled sleepily at that.

Then, after a long pause, she whispered:

“Good… because I think I still cry a lot.”

Jennie and Lisa both burst out laughing while Mochi barked like he agreed completely.
