SUMMARY –

Destiny broke the multiverse, although she had sworn to protect it with her life.

Now cast aside to London – Earth 273, she was to live the rest of her days as mere mortals. But when an unexpected portal opened up in the middle of her new work place, she was forced to face the past she had left behind.

The collision of the multiverse is inevitable, but is Destiny willing to sacrifice everything for the fate of the world? Especially a blooming love that had started to mean everything.

When Cameron hit her one year mark in London, she moved into a new place with Emma, opting for a two bedroom apartment unlike her first apartment in London. And before she knew it, her second book was out in the world too.

It fared better than her first, still within the fantasy/sci-fi genre. To her surprise, and Emma’s ‘I told you so’, her second novel, Lead Me Back To You, sold over ten thousand copies within a week of publishing, putting her on the list of best-selling authors.

Instagram probably had a hand in its success, and Cameron would forever be thankful for Evelyn who begged her to get an account.

Life was good, better than anything she could’ve imagined for herself in New York. But a part of her still missed the friends she had left behind. But she made new friends, the guy living across from her apartment was one of the nicest person she had come across. The barista that works at the cafe across her old apartment. Her co-workers who she could somewhat tolerate, but becomes a different person the second she even the slightest bit tipsy. It was a new life, a break from her old world and a good step into her future.

She found another skating rink, where she started up her private lessons once more. Skating had always been her passion, and although she doesn’t regret not going towards a road of competitive skating, she still frequented the ice as it felt like an extension of who Cameron Elsher is.

Emma had been a huge presence in her life as well, and before Cameron knew it, she couldn’t imagine life without the English actress. Emma had taken up a job as an english teacher in the private high school a train ride away from their apartment, and Cameron found herself settling into a new state of normal.

“This apartment isn’t half-bad,” Evelyn glanced around the living room with a hum of approval. Cameron smacked her over the head, earning her a loud yelp as Evelyn turned around and hit the brunette back. “Our first apartment was superior, but this is really homey.”

Cameron glared, crossing her arms over her chest. “I woke up at the crack ass of dawn to get your CEO-ass from the airport to this beautiful apartment, you don’t get to insult it.”

“When did homey become an insult?” Evelyn sighed in exasperation, dropping her bag onto the couch as Cameron fussed over the luggage and sprayed it with sanitizers and wiping down the wheels and dragging it to her room down the hall. “And be careful with that, there are some fragile things in there!”

Cameron paused before reaching her room. “This is a week with your favorite college roommate in London, what can you possibly have packed that makes it fragile?! Did you pack a glass slipper or something?”

“I’ll have you know make-up products are not to be joke with!” Evelyn defended herself, picking up her purse and following Cameron into the brunette’s bedroom. “If you slam it too hard the content might spill out and ruin my dresses.”

“You could’ve just placed it in a ziplock bag,” Cameron deadpanned, placing Evelyn’s suitcase at the bottom of her bed and dragging the girl back to the kitchen area. “Thanks for thinking about dressing nice for my first book signing event though!”

“Oh no honey, those are for the London boys I’ll be picking up at the clubs,” Evelyn smiled sweetly, only to find herself at the receiving end of another angry smack. “OW! I was just joking! Mostly…”

“If you keep talking like that you’ll be living on the street and I won’t be making breakfast for you,” Cameron threatened, going into the fridge and grabbing out three eggs as well as the bacon.

“You know I’m rich right, I could easily relocate myself to any five star hotel-” Cameron shot Evelyn a threatening look and the girl shut up. “Fine, safer topics. I love your second book. Destiny was such a mood, and Rose is so unintentionally funny. The writing was also top tier, I can see why it made New York’s bestseller list. Although I was upset that I wasn’t the first person to read your story.”

Evelyn pouted and Cameron rolled her eyes, focusing on not burning the eggs. If she burnt another food item, Emma just might ban her from the kitchen. Speak of the devil…

“I got that privilege, actually.” Emma strolled into the room, dressed in a white button down that’s tucked into her beige dress pants. Her hair was down in gentle curls. She plopped down onto the stool beside Evelyn on the island. “Morning, Cam. And who might you be?”

“Evelyn Carter,” Evelyn offered a hand, which Emma shook. “I’m the CEO of Carter Corporation, focusing mainly on financial aids and providing financial advisors.”

“Smart,” Emma raised an eyebrow. “I’m afraid I’m just an English teacher at Everglean Academy.”

“Part time actress too,” Cameron added over her shoulder, and Emma laughed but nodded.

“That too.”

“Will you be attending the book signing?” Cameron turned as she placed a plate in front of both Emma and Evelyn.

Emma nodded with a soft smile. “You know I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Neither will I,” Evelyn added, shoving a piece of bacon into her mouth.

“You better not,” Cameron glared. “I woke up at the ass crack of dawn to-”

Evelyn rolled her eyes, waving her fork. “I know, I will a hundred percent be there. I won’t even swing by a nightclub on the way there!”

Emma laughed as she shoved the remaining breakfast into her mouth and placed it into the sink. “Well, the two of you have fun, I have a day job to get to. See you later, Cam.”

Emma pulled Cameron into a side hug before waving to Evelyn, swiftly walking through the door and locking it behind her. Evelyn glanced at the woman with narrowed eyes. “Are you sure you two aren’t dating?”

“Yes,” Cameron sighed, having gone over this a million times on the car ride from the airport to her apartment. “Now help me clean breakfast up, and I might retract my sentence about not going to a nightclub with you.”

“On it, boss,” Evelyn mock solute, running towards the sink and almost tripping in a haste to get over there. Cameron laughed, a smile on her face as she watched her old life meet the new.
