Chapter 22

My favourite spot

Clarissa PoV:

Nigel waited for me outside, after I left an ’emergency’ meeting. Sometimes I really wonder why I even have some people employed. Without a list with clear instructions, they would always fuck up.

I smiled at Nigel, as he held the car door open for me, letting me get in the car. He closed the door, before sitting down in the driver seat. “Where to?” “Leonora’s apartment. We are going to pick her up and then go to my little spot.”

He nodded, understanding me without needing further instruction. If everyone just would be like him, my life would be so much easier.

I leaned back in my seat, grabbing my phone to write her.

I am on my way to your place.
Be ready, I wanna show you my
favourite spot 😉

I placed my phone onto the seat next to me, looking out of the window. It didn’t take long for her to answer me.

Already waiting for you.

Attached was a picture of her, laying on the bed, Patches right next to her. I smiled softly, admiring how beautiful she looked with the light framing her face.

Faster then I thought, we reached her apartment. “Should I head in and get her?” “No, don’t worry. Just wait here.” I slowly got out of the car, looking around and spotting a van not to far from here.

“Great, already watching her.” I just sighed, walking over to the door, before ringing the bell. “Hello?” “Open the door. It’s me.” There was a little chuckle, before the door opened and I could step inside.

She waited at the door, leaning against the door frame. “Took you some time to get up here. Getting old?” I rolled my eyes, shaking my head. “Better watch your tone young lady.” We both smiled at each other.

I stepped closer, wrapping my arms around her neck. “I missed you.” She pulled me closer, her hands on my waist. “I missed you too.” I closed the gap between us, kissing her softly.

“Ready for our little trip?” She nodded, her eyes glowing in the soft light of the hallway. “Let me just grab my coat real quick.” “Take your time.” I watched as she walked back into her apartment and came back out shortly after.

“Just as a warning, I think there is already some paparazzi outside.” She seemed a bit stiff at that statement. I sighed and grabbed her hand with mine, squeezing it softly.

“I am here with you, okay?” “I-I know, it’s just…” She sighed and I gave her a soft smile. “We can stay here if you prefer that.” She shook her head, looking into my eyes.

“No. We are going.” And with that, she pulled me with her down the stairs. She never let go of my hand, but as soon as she opened the front door, she pulled her hand away.

I understood why, still it made me a little sad. Over the time, she would get used to it. I just need to wait a little more.

“Can we?” She looked outside and nodded, before walking over to my car. Nigel greeted us both and she greeted him back before getting into the car.

I waited a bot, until the door was closed. “When we are there, can you make sure that they don’t invade our space to much?” I nodded towards the can on the other side of the street.

“Of course.” “thank you. Oh, and maybe try not to make it to obvious. I want her to relax and enjoy this.” He nodded once more and I smiled, getting into the car myself.

“Everything alright?” Leonora asked, as I sat down. Nigel got into the driver seat and started the car. “Yeah, don’t worry.” I placed my hand on her knee and watched the soft blush, that came to her face.

“I should rather ask if you are okay. You seem a little red.” I pointed to her cheeks, letting my finger circle in the air. “W-what? No…” She looked to the side, trying to hide her face, which made me chuckle.

“Of course not.” Nigel started driving and I sat a bit closer to Leonora, leaning my head against her shoulder. “You know, this moment was all I was looking forward to today. After all those meetings a nice evening with you.”

She did’t turn her head, she only placed her hand ontop of mine. “I did too. You can’t imagine how many times I checked the clock after I came home from work.” We both chuckled and I closed my eyes.

After some time, we reached a little park. Nigel parked the car and we both got out. “Where are we?” “Somewhere quiet. It’s a park on private ground.” She looked at me with wide eyes.

“So we are tresspassing?” “Yes.” She stared at me and I started to laugh. “I am just joking Nora, calm down. I know the owner, he allowed me to be here.” I smiled as she breathed out relieved.

“That wasn’t funny!” “The panicked look on your face was.” She rolled her eyes, interwining her arm with mine. I gave Nigel a little look, before we started walking.

Even though we were on private ground, it didn’t mean we were safe from all the paparazzi. But now wasn’t the time to worry about that.

“And you come here, everytime you have to clear your head?” “Yes. You will see why.” I pulled her with me towards the trees and onto a little dirt path.

We walked for some time, before we came across a little pond, connecting with a River. It was surrounded by all sorts of flowers, the light reflecting on the water surface.

“Wow…” I smiled, walking over to a bench. “Yeah, that’s what I said aswell.” I sat down on the bench, looking at her with a smile.

She looked like a little child, as she stared into the pond, watching the fish swim around. “I was here everyday when they restored the pond.” “What did you do here everyday?” She came over to me, sitting down aswell.

“Oh, you know. Made sure it all looked the way I wanted.” We both chuckled. “No, but really.” “I mean it. He said, tell them how you want it to look like. This will be your little paradise.”

I drifted off into my thoughts as I stared into the water. “So, you know the man that lives here for quite some time hm?” “Yeah… You could say that.”

Her hand on my arm made me wince slightly. “Are you okay? You seem a bit distant.” “Yeah, yeah… Don’t worry. Just stress from work.” I smiled at her, sitting a little closer to her.

“Try to forget work a bit, yes? Just concentrate on me.” “I’ll happily do that.” I smirked and watched her blush, as I eyed her up and down. “I mean, it’s not a bad sight.” “S-stop.”

She turned her head away a bit. “Add a little please and it’s begging.” I watched her cheeks turn a darker shade of red. “W-we’re in public.” “On private ground. Do you really think anyone will come by?”

She turned her head back at me, an adorable soft look on her face. I leaned my head to the side, smiling. “I don’t know… Maybe.” I shook my head, chuckling.

I placed my hand onto her cheek, watching her lean into my touch. “There is no one. Just us two. And Nigel of course.” She smiled and nodded a bit, looking at my lips.

“Thank you. I mean for taking me here.” “I am glad I could show you.” I leaned a bit closer and she smiled, before kissing me again. I pulled her close, not wanting to break the kiss.

Her hands went into my hair, tugging on it lightly. I moaned softly and we both leaned back, her cheeks red. My face was a little red aswell and before I knew it, we both started to laugh.

“Maybe we should just leave this be for another time, hm?” She nodded, letting me lean my head against her shoulder again.
