Chapter 154

The first thing everyone in class heard every morning was not the bell.

It was-

“OW?! WHO PUT THIS CHAIR HERE?!”

A loud crash echoed through the hallway before the classroom door slammed open dramatically.

And there stood Lisa, hair messy from running, backpack halfway open, papers falling everywhere like confetti.

Behind her, the vice principal sighed.

Again.

Meanwhile at the front of the classroom, Jennie slowly lowered the attendance sheet in her hand.

The class president stared at her girlfriend with the same exhausted expression she wore every single day.

“…It’s 7:58 in the morning,” Jennie said flatly.

Lisa grinned sheepishly from the floor.

“Good morning to you too, love.”

The entire class burst into laughter.

Jennie pinched the bridge of her nose.

“Kim Jisoo,” she called calmly without even looking away from Lisa. “Please help pick her up before she accidentally causes another natural disaster.”

“Too late,” Jisoo replied while sipping juice. “She already knocked over the plant outside.”

“I SAID SORRY TO THE PLANT!”

“You bowed to it, Lisa.”

“It deserved respect!”

Another wave of laughter erupted.

Lisa finally stood up and rushed toward her seat beside Jennie, only to trip over her own shoelaces halfway there.

THUD.

Silence.

Jennie closed her eyes.

“…I don’t get paid enough for this.”

“You don’t get paid at all,” Rosé muttered from the back.

Lisa dramatically lifted a hand from the floor.

“Babe… tell my family I loved them…”

“You tripped over air.”

“Air attacked first.”

Jennie stared at her for a long moment before crouching down beside her desk-bound disaster of a girlfriend.

Then quietly-

“Did you hit your head?”

The class immediately went “OOOOOOOOOH.”

Lisa blinked.

Jennie was still serious-looking, still composed, still intimidating as ever…

But her hand was gently brushing dust off Lisa’s sleeve.

Very carefully.

Very softly.

Lisa’s grin slowly widened.

“Awwww… my class president loves me.”

Jennie instantly stood up. “Attendance.”

The class laughed harder.

Being class president was not easy.

Especially when your girlfriend had the energy of an unleashed golden retriever.

Lisa forgot homework.

Forgot pencils.

Forgot what day it was.

One time she accidentally submitted her lunch instead of her math worksheet.

Another time she raised her hand confidently to answer a question and somehow started talking about dinosaurs.

Nobody knew how.

Not even Lisa.

But somehow… Jennie always handled her.

“Lisa.”

“Hm?”

“Sit properly.”

“Okay.”

Five seconds later-

“Lisa.”

“Hm?”

“Stop spinning your pen.”

“Sorry.”

Three seconds later-

“Lisa.”

“Hm?”

“Why are you balancing your ruler on your lip?”

“I’m discovering my talents.”

Jennie inhaled slowly.

The teacher watched this daily interaction with amusement.

“You’re very patient with her, Ms. Kim.”

Jennie looked at Lisa, who was currently trying to catch an eraser tossed into the air using only her forehead.

“…I’m trying.”

The eraser hit Lisa’s eye.

“OW?!”

Jennie immediately stood up.

“Are you okay?!”

The entire class froze.

Because class president Jennie Kim rarely panicked.

Lisa blinked dramatically before smiling.

“You sounded worried.”

Jennie realized everyone was staring.

Slowly, she sat back down and fixed her blazer.

“…Continue the lesson.”

But her ears were bright red.

Lunch break was even worse.

Because Lisa became louder with food.

“BABE LOOK!!”

Jennie looked up from organizing paperwork just in time to see Lisa proudly holding two sausages between her upper lip like walrus tusks.

“…Amazing,” Jennie deadpanned.

Rosé nearly choked laughing.

Jisoo was recording already.

“National Geographic discovered a new species,” she announced.

Lisa wiggled the sausages proudly. “I am Sausageaurus.”

Jennie stared for three full seconds.

Then-

A tiny smile escaped.

Tiny.

Small.

Barely there.

But Lisa saw it instantly.

Her eyes widened dramatically.

“SHE SMILED.”

Jennie’s smile disappeared immediately.

“SHE SMILED EVERYONE!! WRITE THIS DATE DOWN!!”

“Kim Lisa.”

“Yes, my love?”

“Eat your lunch quietly.”

“No.”

After school, the classroom finally became peaceful.

Golden sunset poured through the windows.

Jennie sat alone at her desk organizing class files while humming softly.

Then-

CRASH.

She didn’t even flinch anymore.

Lisa appeared from outside the door holding a plastic bag and looking offended at gravity itself.

“There was betrayal.”

“You tripped on the stairs again?”

“The stairs attacked me emotionally.”

Jennie sighed, standing up to help fix Lisa’s crooked uniform tie.

“You’re impossible.”

“But I’m your impossible.”

Jennie paused.

Lisa smiled softly this time instead of joking loudly.

And suddenly the serious class president who scared half the school looked… gentle.

Warm.

Hopelessly in love.

“You forgot your umbrella earlier,” Lisa said, pulling it from the bag proudly. “So I ran back to get it.”

Jennie blinked.

“…You went all the way home for this?”

“And snacks.” Lisa grinned. “Mostly snacks.”

Jennie looked down at the slightly squished bread from Lisa’s chaotic journey.

Then at her girlfriend’s messy hair.

Untucked uniform.

Untied shoelaces.

And warm smile.

A disaster.

A complete disaster.

But Jennie reached forward anyway and fixed Lisa’s collar carefully.

“Thank you,” she said quietly.

Lisa melted instantly.

“OH MY GOD SHE SAID THANK YOU SOFTLY-“

Jennie grabbed her sleeve before she could scream louder.

“Sit down.”

“Oho? Bossy.”

“You’re staying while I finish paperwork.”

Lisa plopped into the chair dramatically.

“As long as my pretty class president is beside me.”

Jennie rolled her eyes.

But a few minutes later, Lisa noticed something.

Without realizing it…

Jennie had moved her chair closer.

Until their shoulders touched.

And while organizing papers with one hand-

Jennie quietly intertwined their pinkies beneath the desk.
