Emma POV

As the bell rang, signaling the start of the class, Emma watched as the students rushed in and took their seats. She was about to begin her lecture when she had an idea, a way to make the lesson much more exciting.

‘Class,’ she said, getting their attention. ‘I have decided to change the lesson plan for today. I challenge all of you to learn this song on any instrument you own, and if you successfully complete the challenge I will give you a free day in class. Do you accept?’

The class erupted in cheers and excitement. Everyone wanted to take up the challenge and have a day off. Emma smiled, delighted that everyone was so enthused.

‘You have five minutes to master the song. If you do so, you will have the free day. But, if you don’t, you will have to listen to an extra long lecture to make up for it,’ she said, her voice stern but with a hint of a smile.

The students got to work right away, rummaging through the musical instruments stored in the back of the classroom, determined to master the song and have the free day.

Emma watched as the students worked, marvelling at their passion and enthusiasm. This was exactly what she wanted to achieve in her lessons and she couldn’t help but smile. She knew this was going to be one of the best lessons she had taught in a long time.

Emma sat down at her desk and set the timer for 5 minute. While her students were working she saw her phone light up on her desk. It was a text message from Abigail.

The class erupted in cheers. Emma looks at her class with a smile thinking how happy she is to be a teacher.

Abigails POV

The bell rang letting everyone know it was lunch period. As she hurried down the hallway, she was stopped by the sound of her teacher’s voice calling after her. “Abigail, I need to speak to you for a moment.” Abigail reluctantly stopped and turned around.

“I just wanted to say that I noticed you’ve been putting in a lot of extra effort in class lately. I’m very impressed with the work you’ve been doing, and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate it.”

Abigail couldn’t believe her teacher’s words. She had been struggling in class lately, and felt like no one had noticed the extra effort she had been putting in. She was so touched by her teacher’s kind words that she forgot all about her worries.

“Thank you,” she said, smiling. “I really appreciate it.”

“You’re welcome. Now, go on and enjoy your lunch with your friends.”

Instead of going to lunch abigail headed towards Emma’s class room she had packed lunch for her and emma. 

As she walked up the stairs to the music room, she heard a beautiful voice coming from inside. Filled with curiosity, she peered through the door and saw Emma playing the guitar and singing.

Abigail couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the sound of Emma’s voice. She had never heard her sing before and was taken aback by the sheer talent and passion that Emma had for music. She stood there for a few moments, transfixed.

When the song was over, Abigail stepped inside, locking the door behind her.

‘I would love to teach you to play. You don’t need to pay me Abi but it may be easier to explain why we spend so much time together if you officially sign up for music lessons’ Emma said as she put a spoon full of food in her mouth.

‘Where do I sign up then, especially if it mean more time with you’ abigail said with a laugh. ‘We can do them at my house or yours, which ever works the best for that day’

‘That works perfectly, we can start next week and have lessons on tuesdays and thursdays, i will bring a guitar with me to your house Tuesday say around 4pm’ emma said

‘Let’s watch some scary movies since Halloween is tomorrow’ emma suggested

Not realizing they lost track of time the bell rang. Lunch period is over and it’s time for the next class. Lucky for Abigail she is already in her next class. The day came to an end quickly. After school abigail headed to the store to grab everything she needed for the night.

Abigail smiled ‘Yea I don’t usually tell anyone or even invite anyone over’ She then gave Emma a tour of her house, pointing out her favorite items and memories. Once they were done it was time to eat. Abigail served up the steak with a side of potatoes and aparugus. Emma was surprised with the meal, and how good it tasted.

‘Your wish is my command’ Abigail said and got up and trapped the finest red wine she could find in the cellar. Once Abigail made it back she popped open the wine and poured and glass for both of them and sat back down.

They talked about their favorite horror movies, how they both liked to be scared, and what kind of haunted houses they wanted to visit. Soon, the conversation turned to the movie they were about to watch.

Abigail and Emma both agreed to watch Annabelle and they both thought that it was a good choice. They curled up on the couch, sharing a blanket, and settled in to watch.
