Chapter 37

Quick Authors Note : hey lovelies, this chapter was supposed to be a chapter filled with smut, but I can’t write smut to save my freaking life so please use your imagination, and thank you for understanding and I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Sienna’s Pov :

The night had been everything I feared- and everything I needed.

Dinner with Caitlin’s teammates, the “second family” she’d spoken about with so much affection, had left me overwhelmed in the best way. They’d teased, laughed, shared stories, and welcomed me into the circle without hesitation. But even with all of them around, Caitlin’s hand never left mine. Under the table, under the noise, under the spotlight of curious eyes, she kept grounding me with the soft brush of her thumb or the gentle press of her knee against mine.

And now… now it was just the two of us.

Her apartment door shut behind us with a click, and Caitlin leaned casually against it, arms folded across her chest. Except there was nothing casual about the way her eyes tracked me, like she hadn’t had her fill even after hours together.

“So…” she drawled, voice thick with teasing. “You staying tonight?”

I slipped off my heels and gave her a look. “You make it sound like I ever leave anymore.”

Her grin spread slow, self-satisfied. “That’s because you’re practically living here now, Sunshine.” She pushed off the door, prowling toward me with an ease that made my stomach flip. “You’re my wife now. We’re way past the awkward stage and practically at the moving-in-together stage.”

I snorted, crossing my arms though warmth rose to my cheeks. “Wife, huh? Bold of you to skip the proposal.”

She slipped behind me, looping her arms around my waist, pulling me back against her chest. Her lips brushed the shell of my ear as she whispered, “Proposal? Baby, I married you the second you kissed me back.”

My breath caught. My body leaned into her instinctively, like it always did.

“Since we’re so married now,” I said, my voice softer than I meant it to be, “can you do me a favor?”

“Anything,” she replied instantly, no hesitation.

I turned, my back facing her, gathering my hair over one shoulder. “Unzip my dress.”

The air thickened.

For a moment, she didn’t move. Then, slowly, her fingers found the zipper. They trembled just slightly-not from nerves, but from restraint. The sound of the zipper lowering filled the silence, the fabric loosening against my body until cool air touched skin she hadn’t yet. Her knuckles brushed the small of my back, grazing me like a ghost, and my knees threatened to give way.

Her breath hitched, ragged, and when she leaned close enough that her lips brushed the nape of my neck, I nearly melted on the spot. “Sunshine…” she breathed, almost like a prayer.

I turned to face her, my dress sliding down my shoulders, pooling in a jade green puddle at my feet. Caitlin froze, her eyes darkening, her jaw slack for a heartbeat before hunger overtook hesitation.

Then her mouth was on mine.

The kiss wasn’t gentle-it was fire, raw and claiming. She pressed me against the wall, her body firm against mine, her hands gripping my waist like she was afraid I’d slip away. I gasped against her lips, my fingers tangling in the soft strands of her hair, tugging her impossibly closer.

She kissed me like she’d been waiting all night, all week, maybe her whole damn life.

Between kisses, her words spilled, broken by the press of her mouth. “You looked… irresistible… in that dress,” she murmured, trailing kisses down my jaw to my throat. I moaned, and her lips curved against my skin. “I wanted to take it off you so bad…” Her teeth grazed my collarbone, making me shiver. “…and now I finally can.”

“Caitlin…” My voice cracked on her name, desperate and pleading.

She grinned against my skin, satisfied. “That’s it, Baby. Say my name.”

Her dominance wasn’t harsh-it was steady, assured, threaded with tenderness. She lifted me without effort, her strength making me feel weightless.

“Jump,” she commanded softly, and I did, wrapping my legs around her waist.

She carried me into the bedroom, laying me gently on the bed before bracing herself above me. Her hair fell into her face, her gaze devouring me but her touch still careful, reverent. Her thumb brushed my cheek as her eyes roamed over me.

“You’re so beautiful,” she whispered, voice rough with emotion. “God, Sienna… you undo me.”

I swallowed, my heart hammering. “And here I thought you were the one in control.”

Her grin was wicked, dangerous. “Oh, Baby. Make no mistake-I am.”

And then she proved it.

Her lips claimed every inch of me-my mouth, my neck, my collarbone-each kiss deliberate, each touch a blend of hunger and devotion. She took her time, savoring, teasing, coaxing sounds from me I didn’t know I could make. Every gasp, every tremble, she met with a soft murmur against my skin. So good. So perfect. Mine.

The air was thick with heat, with want, with everything we’d been holding back. She pushed, I yielded. She led, I followed. And in between the sparks and fire, there were whispers.

“Do you know how hard it was to sit across from you tonight?” she breathed between kisses. “Do you know what you do to me?”

I moaned her name in response, again and again, and each time she shuddered, as if my voice alone unraveled her.

When the storm finally broke, when the room was filled only with ragged breaths and the thrum of our racing hearts, Caitlin collapsed beside me, pulling me flush against her chest. Her lips pressed to my temple, lingering, her arms locked around me like she’d never let go.

“You’re mine, Sunshine,” she whispered, her voice raw. “Wife, roommate, dream girl… all of it. You’re mine.”

I pressed a shaky kiss to her collarbone, my heart so full it hurt.

Minutes, maybe hours, passed in silence, just our bodies tangled together, our breaths syncing. Her fingers traced lazy shapes on my skin, her touch no longer desperate but tender, reverent.

“Clark?” I whispered finally, my voice soft in the dark.

“Yeah, baby?” she murmured, kissing the crown of my head.

I smiled against her chest. “If I’m your wife now… does that mean I get half your sneaker collection?”

She barked a laugh, the sound vibrating against me. “Hell no. But you can have all of me instead.”

And somehow, that was more than enough.

Because in her arms, I realized something she’d been hinting at all night.

I wasn’t just spending the night in her apartment.

I was home.
