Latricia ‘Trish’ McCoy woke up or rather, she came to consciousness as she entered the school building. With a giggle, she shook her head, wondering just what had been in the tablets she and Tina had taken the night before.
“Aw, aw damn! Where, where’s my back pack?” Trish wondered, even twisting to see if she could somehow see it on her back.
All around her, other students milled about or scurried to get to their lockers, get to their classrooms, hurried to talk to friends or to escape their tormentors. Trish could see Angela; the slightly chubby red head had reddened eyes as she shuffled to her locker. Trish wondered if it had been Ryan and his posse that had played another cruel joke on the unpopular girl. Or, more likely, it had been Sammi that had yet again pointed out Angela’s many flaws in her loud, haughty voice.
“Girl! What, what did we take last night?” Trish asked as her beautiful, well-endowed friend walked up to stand beside her.
“I know!” Tina agreed.
“Seen my backpack?” Trish asked, again twisting to peer over her shoulder.
“Shit, probably still in my bedroom,” Tina giggled, chancing a quick fondle of Trish’s lovely buttocks.
“Tina!” Trish gasped, then giggled.
“What? Ain’t no one paying us no mind,” Tina giggled, giving her friend an affectionate one-armed squeeze around her middle.
“I, damn, I, I don’t even remember what classes we supposed be in right now,” Trish admitted as the school’s first buzzer sounded.
“I, hmm, two twelve?” Tina guessed.
“Yeah, I uh, yeah, I think so,” Trish agreed, heading toward the stairwell.
“Or was it one oh nine?” Tina asked, looking around in confusion.
“Tina, come on!” Trish said in frustration as students around them scurried to get to their classes.
The confusing fog around her thoughts seemed to thicken. Normally, Trish would have enjoyed this hazy, lazy feeling but right now? Right now she wanted to know what class she was supposed to be in.
They decided to go to Room 109 since it was closer. It seemed familiar to them and they nodded in relief as they took their usual seats. Looking over, Trish saw Angela looking toward them, eyes shiny with fresh tears. She smiled what she hoped was a comforting smile for the red head.
Trish and Tina looked at each other when Mr. Dorset did not call their names. They both mouthed ‘Oh Shit!’ to each other and hurried from the room.
“I knew we was supposed be in Room two twelve,” Trish claimed as they hurried to the stairwell.
“Then why you didn’t say nothing,” Tina scoffed as they bustled up the stairs.
Mrs. Smith ignored them as they burst into the room. She did not acknowledge their fallacious excuses as they took their usual seats in the room.
“Wait. Wait, what? What’s she talking about?” Tina hissed as Mrs. Smith continued her lecture on using logarithms.
“Base A? Base B? What? This, this is making my head hurt,” Trish agreed.
The edges of her thoughts were swirling with grayness. Thoughts were hard to concentrate on; she just felt odd, out of place. She saw that Tina’s face reflected her own thoughts.
“I, this, this ain’t the right room,” Trish decided, vaguely recognizing some of the geeks in the school’s Advanced Placement classes as they scribbled down the information.
“I, I’m totally lost,” Tina said as they skulked out of the classroom.
“May… Maybe Mr. Dorset did call our names and we just didn’t hear him?” Trish asked.
“Both of us?” Tina asked, looking up and down the empty hall.
“So, what, what you want do?” Trish asked, swiveling back and forth in indecision.
“We could…” Tina smiled, producing a fat joint from her purse.
“Yeah! You my girl,” Trish agreed.
In the restroom, the two girls crowded into the same stall. Before lighting the joint, Tina pressed her full lips to Trish’s full lips.
“Quit!” Tina giggled as Trish tried to unsnap her blue jeans.
That hazy, lazy feeling, that euphoria of the fog enveloped her as they smoked the potent joint. Just as Tina tossed the smoldering bud into the toilet, Trish pressed her lips against Tina’s lips.
“Let’s, let’s go to your place,” Trish whispered, lightly caressing Tina’s breasts through blouse and bra.
“I, oh, okay,” Tina agreed, leaning heavily against Trish.
Holding hands, the two girls scampered down the hallway, down the stairs, not caring how much noise they made. It wasn’t the first time they had decided to skip school but yesterday, yesterday had been the first time the two had admitted to each other the deep attraction they felt for one another. In Tina, Trish felt that she’d met her true soulmate; someone who understood her. Both eighteen year old girls were biracial and were rejected by both races. Tina’s mother was Filipino and her father was an African-American soldier that had been stationed in the Philippines. Trish’s mother was African-American and her father was Latino. Neither girl had ever met their biological fathers; both girls were being raised by their mothers. But, at least Tina had a step-father in her life.
In Tina’s bedroom, after confessing their true feelings to one another, they’d slowly undressed, kissing one another often. Once naked, staring deeply into each other’s eyes, they fell across Tina’s bed in a tight embrace.
“Oh!” Tina hissed out when Trish’s mouth captured one of her rock hard nipples.
“Mmng!” Tina grunted when Trish’s fingers tugged at her other nipple.
Putting her head between Tina’s thick legs, Trish marveled at the fragrance wafting from Tina’s sparsely furred crotch. Using her fingers, Trish opened Tina’s crotch, exposing Tina’s light pink inner lips.
Her fragrance was heavenly but Tina’s taste was divine. Trish licked, sucked and fingered her best friend to a grunting thrashing climax. They lay together, holding one another, kissing and murmuring soft words to each other.
Tina produced the two tabs she’d scored from her step-brother Darryl. Taking the tablets, Trish lay back while Tina repeated Trish’s earlier actions.
“Fuck!” Trish giggled.
She could hear Tina’s wet slurping mouth on her left nipple. She could hear Tina’s fingers making wet, squelching sounds as Tina fingered her wet pussy. But she couldn’t feel anything. Trish had lazily slipped into unconsciousness even as her lover tried to satisfy her.
Now, stepping out of the building into the harsh sunlight, Trish felt that odd fog thickening. She couldn’t even feel the October sun on her skin. Still holding hands, the two girls ran-walked toward the trailer Tina shared with her mother, step-father and step-brother and step-sister.
“Aw, fuck! Fuck! Fuck! What? What’s she doing here? Why’s she home?” Tina cursed, seeing her mother’s car on the clam sell drive in front of her trailer.
“Maybe she’s got one of her migraines?” Trish said, really feeling out of sorts now.
They’d just hurried seven blocks from school to trailer. Normally, Trish would have been winded; physical exertion was not something she normally did. That haze was ever thickening; Trish’s vision was turning grayer and grayer. Even Tina, her sweet, beautiful Tina was a blur beforfe her eyes.
Quietly, the two girls stealthily made their way up the steps and Tina slowly opened the door of the trailer. Entering the trailer’s front room, they could hear Tina’s mother yelling into her cell phone. Softly, they snuck past the door of the kitchen where Tina’s mother was pacing back and forth. Tina almost ruined their discrete passage by letting a little giggle escape once they’d passed the open doorway.
“No, Albert, no!” Tina’s mother Sheila snarled into her cell phone. “You ain’t putting MY home, you ain’t putting MY trailer up bail that boy out. He’s one sold my baby that…”
Silently entering Tina’s room, Trish saw her backpack. She also saw her clothes from yesterday, strewn on the floor of Tina’s normally very neat and orderly room.
“I, I made my bed this morning,” Tina declared, looking at the rumbled bed. “I KNOW I made, Trish, I, I don’t ever leave my room that bed ain’t made.”
The fog was completely black now. Trish could not see anything. She could barely hear Tina’s mother screaming something about Darryl and fentanyl. Trish tried to squeeze Tina’s hand but could no longer feel the other girl’s hand.
“Tina, I, I…” Trish called out as Tina faded away.
“Trish, I love you,” Tina managed to call out as Trish faded away.
