Aria’s P.O.V

Looking at the little girl I was confused at why she was out so late.

“Umm… I-I-I… Uh…” The little girl stumbled over her words as I stared at her.

Using Sakai, I felt that someone was watching us from behind a building.

‘Whoever that is most definitely isn’t her guardian.’ I thought as I kept my eyes on the small girl.

[Mio, can you please deal with this?] I asked her.

“Of course.” She told as she walked towards the girl.

“Child, what do you want? You’re a hindrance, so if you have no business with us, get out of the way.” She said threatening her as the girl began to shed tears out of fear.

I could do nothing, but face palm before clapping to gain Mio’s attention.

As she looked towards me, I beckoned her to come towards me making her confused as once she was close enough I gave her a hard chop on the head making her almost bend over completely as I already expected her to moan at my action.

[What are you doing to a little girl?] I questioned her.

“I thought you wanted to get her put the way.” She said.

[Just how did you come to that conclusion?!] I asked her.

“B-But, she got in the way of our time together! It’s not fun like this!” Mio said leaving me face palming as I reached out for her nose and gave it a pinch.

[That’s literally no reason to scare a little girl.] I told her as she had to breathe out her mouth.

It was this scene that made the little girl giggle.

“What’s so funny?!” Mio questioned with a now red nose as I had to pat her head to calm her down.

[It’s fine, Mio. Just calm down.] I said as she pouted while I moved forward towards the girl.

The little girl flinched as I came closer to her, but I simply knelt down and wrote in the air.

[Hey there, can you read?] I asked as She looked towards my sign.

“Ah… I-I can.” She responded as I nodded.

[I’m sorry that my friend here tried to scare you. Though what are you doing out here?] I asked.

“I-I-I have reque…” She trailed before erupting in tears as I had caught her in my embrace playing her face in busom like Mother would do a child or something like that.

“Y…You… get away from-” Mio was cut off by me.

[We have no choice, Mio. We’ll be taking her back with us.] I told her shocking her as I picked up the little girl in my arms much like I would do to Little Tomoe backay home.

Growing out my Fox ears and tails as I used the latter to rub her back soothingly.

“Eh? But Young Miss, she may be little, but is still a woman.” Mio said making raise a brow at her.

[Mio…] I trailed.

“Ugh, understood! If you insist, Young Miss!” She said as I nodded walk towards her before giving her a small masked peck on the cheek to cheer her up since I know she was looking forward to this.

[Consider this my apology for the time. Now let’s go.] I said as I began to walk forward not minding the frozen standing Mio whose expression was becoming lewder and more red than ever.

“Ahhhh?!!! I was kiss by My Mistress!!!” She shouted out so loud I’m sure the entire town heard her.

‘Hopefully I didn’t get myself into something troublesome.’ I thought.

-Time Skip-

I was currently back at the inn as I held a vest filled with hidden weapons.

“Hm, I’m not sure whether to commend you or scold you for something you think went well…” I said towards Tomoe who was sitting seiza style on the floor.

“Th-This a trap! This was no doubt a conspiracy!” Tomoe said sweat dropping.

“Hm, so that includes you killing two of the thieves?” I asked with a raised brow.

“I didn’t mean to! It was just a light kick and I only aimed to cut the sword with my Katana!” She explained herself.

“And what happened?” I questioned.

“Well… the first was surprisingly fragile. While the second one died because the Katana you gave me is too good…” She said making me sigh.

“I was going to call you an evil magistrate, but no your definitely a ruffian.” I said making her look towards me with a comical look.

“Young Miss-!” She was cut off.

“Just remember to thank Mio later. I could have burned the corpses, but I think that would be suspicious.” I told her as I then looked back the person on my bed.

“By the way, care to explain this?” I asked looking at unconscious woman on the bed.

“I-I picked the one with no breast and seemed to be a man! I didn’t think breasts would appear after you removed the weapons.” She responded as I face palmed.

“Please don’t say it like I made the grow there… Always make sure to do a proper body search no matter the gender.” I told her.

“I was worried that you’d call me a pervert for stripping her.” She said making me raise a brow.

“Why would I call you that? Safety first remember that as your first priority alright?” I told her as she nodded making me pat her head in acknowledgement.

“U-Um…” A small voice said as I looked back to see the little girl me and Mio brought back.

“Hm? Who are you?” Tomoe asked.

“Ah, I-I’m Rinon. Thank you for letting me use your bath.”She said looking all squeaky clean.

Tomoe looked towards me as I sighed.

“She told me her family had gone missing. There seem to be some odd circumstances, so I brought her here.” I explained to Tomoe who nodded.

“Umm…Eeh… Did something happen?” She asked making me look towards her with a raised brow.

‘She talking about me scolding Tomoe, well I think she learned her lesson anyways.’ I thought.

“Your good to go Tomoe, but please rember this incident so that the mistakes are lessened and learned from.” I said making her perk up.

“Oh, well done, child!!” She said thanking Rinon making me stare at her blankly.

“You should be thanking me, but whatever.” I said but was ignored by the smiling Tomoe.

“Umm… I thought you’re… unable to talk…” She said as I looked towards her.

“I can talk.” I said speaking in the common language only to get a confused look from Rinon.

‘So she truly doesn’t understand.’ I thought.

“Young Miss tried to say I can talk in common language just now.” Tomoe explained.

“Really? But I just heard something like, kngvosaipng” She said making me sweat drop.

‘Do I really sound like that?’ I thought.

“Young Miss ability to speak the common language is sealed by a curse. She had previously been learning other languages, so she was able to speak one that we also understood.” Tomoe explained.

“What?! A curse that prevents you from speaking the common language?! That’s just mean! The Demons must have done that!” Rinon said making me raise a brow.

‘Hm seems Demon are normally associated with cursing here.’ I thought.

“They’re truly a troublesome bunch. So what was the situation with your family?” Tomoe asked as I began to write.

[I truly don’t know if it was a Demon or not, but you look like you pretty sure of them] I thought as that Brat up stairs could be considered one if you just gave her some horns.

“Well the common language is a blessing granted to us by the goddess. The Goddess doesn’t recognize non-hyumans, so they can’t speak if they don’t study it, right? Hyumans and demons don’t get along, so this must have been done by a Demon out of jealously.” Rinon explained making face palm internally.

‘So really the only reason there’s a war is because of that brat’s favoritism? She’s so idiotic…’ I thought.

“Miss… I mean…Ma’am…”Rinon struggling to call me somthing as I wrote in the air while patting her head.

[Just call me whatever your comfortable with] I told her.

“Eh? Then… Miss!” She said making me give a light giggle at her cheerfulness.

‘She looks so adorable.’ I thought.

“How old we’re you when you finally managed to speak after paying homage at a shrine? I was four when I managed to do it!” She told me as I raised a brow.

[Shrine?] I questioned.

“Did you forget because you we’re so young then? After being born, you visit a shrine to receive the Goddess’s blessing and be able to speak the common language. I was a little slow, but some kids can start speaking before they’re 3 years old.” Rinon explained making me get a bit irritated.

‘So you don’t even have to learn the language, that brat is spiting me at this point.’ I thought as some knocks we’re heard on my door.

Walking over and opening the door, I layed my eyes on a inn employee.

“Your meal Is ready.” He told me as I nodded

[Please take one of them to the other room.] I told him as he nodded and went and did such as I brought the rest in.

Walking up to Rinon I wrote my words.

[Rinon, there’s still a meal left. You should head to the other room and eat it, then just go to sleep since it’s getting late.] I told her.

“Eh?” She said confused.

‘Young Miss are you perhaps talking about my meal?‘ Tomoe asked me mentally.

[There’s also a bed in there so just use that.] I told her.

‘That’s also mine.‘ Tomoe replied which was promptly ignored.

“T-Thank You, Miss… Oh, right! Here! I drew a picture of my missing sister.” Rinon said as Tomoe came up by her side and looked at the paper.

“That’s rather well drawn.” Tomoe complimented.

“Hehe, I’ve always been good at drawing!”Rinon responded with a happy smile.

“She’s not perfect, but she’s still my only family. Thank you… for the food… also… no, its nothing. Good night Miss and Madam.” She said as I nodded and watched her walk out the room door.

Once I was sure she was gone I started to take off my mask.

“…This sister of hers, if she resembles her, she must be quite the beauty.” Tomoe said as passed the paper to me.

“Tomoe, That’s not why I’m doing this.” I told her as I opened the paper only to be surprised, confused on top of many other things.

“…What is this..?” I questioned with narrowed eyes.

-Small Time Skip-

“I’ve returned” Mio said upon entering the room as I had a very blank but dark look as I stared at the captive thief.

Shaking my out if it I looked towards Mio.

“Hm, sorry about that Mio. Welcome back, how did it go? We’re pretty much all done here.” I told her.

“Ah, yes, I’ve also finished my job. It was disgusting though.” She told me making me nod in acknowledgement with a small smile.

“Haha, sorry about that.” Tomoe apologized as I pulled out a small knife and began to give my hand a small cut.

“Sorry for making you run around so much Mio, here have this.” I said showing her my bleeding hand as she looked at it with stars in her eyes.

“Thank you Young Miss!!!” She said as she immediately moved toward my hand and began to lick and such the blood deviously.

“Delightful~♡♡” She said as I let her continue with her actions while I faced Tomoe.

“Everything’s turning out just how you want it to, which is a bit annoying, but it’s there. Mio, while your enjoying that listen, these robbers listened in on us at the guild and as mostly expected it’s connected to Rinon.” I told her as Mio lifted her face from my hand.

“Rinon? That small girl?” She questioned as I nodded.

“And there’s more connections here. More leaning towards this town’s darkside.” I explained as Mio finished up licking all the blood that was going to poor out.

Standing up, Tomoe handed her the drawing.

“Here.”She said as Mio looked at the paper.

“…My, how well made. So what is it?” Mio asked.

“Rinon’s Sister. Seems like these bunches have captured her. Or it’s better to say that she sold herself to pay off all the debt she owed them.”I Explained

“…Tomoe, Mio we’ve got a rough idea where she is, so can you please go find her tonight?”I asked.

“Right now?! Without any rest or food?!” Tomoe questioned.

“We can certainly function without sleep for a couple of months…”Mio told me making raise a brow.

“Well that’s something I didn’t know.” I said looking towards Tomoe amused.

“Mio, you idiot!” Tomoe berated.

“But, since we have these bodies now, we’d like to live like you do Young Miss!” Mio told me.

“Excatly! And since I’ve been in this body, I’ve experienced how great it truly feels to sleep everynight.” Tomoe said making me sigh.

“I understand and that’s why I’m very sorry to push this on you two, but Tomoe you should understand that from what we just learned there’s no guarantee that she will live tomorrow. Also if you two go there together won’t you two be able ot overcome everything pretty much?” I questioned.

“It sounds to me like that sister is just reaping what she sowed, and how can you even be sure that she’s still ali-” Mio cut herself as I wore a dark look on my face.

[A/N: Don’t mind those clothes]

“Mio, I would like to save that girl’s sister, so please…” I told her as she was sweat dropping and looked frightened from my look.

“Uh… Yes…” She responded making me stare at her before I gave a small sigh in frustration.

‘I didn’t mean to scare her, but…’I trailed as I could only apologize later.

“We can sell our ware and cargo without a merchant’s guild plate right? I’ll just go there with Rinon.” I told them as I looked out the window absent-minded a bit.

“…We’ve got no choice then. Our elderly Noble Woman is awaiting news of us helping someone in need! We have our job!” Tomoe said in efforts to lighten the tense mood making me shake my head with a small smile.

‘You’re important as well, Tomoe.’ I thought.

“I’m not elderly Noble woman, you keep turning everything into a period drama.” I said making her chuckle.

“Of course! Aren’t they a great instructions for living you life!” She said as I just shook my head.

“Oh, also Young Miss?” Tomoe said making me hum in response.

“After we finish this… I… would like to change how I speak.” She said making me blank multiple times before I could only face palm.

“Uh, sure, do what what you wish.” I responded a bit lost at how I should respond.

“Why would even need to ask that?” Mio questioned sweat dropping at Tomoe’s question.

“Well I think it’ll suit me better.” She stated

“Though I feel that this way of speaking fits the character of the elderly Nobleman more.” She told me making me shrug.

“Do what you want, I have no problem about it.” I told her with a small smile.

“You have my gratitude! Well then, let’s go, Mio.” Tomoe said as they both headed towards the door.

“Huh? Eh… okay.” Mio responded as once both of them were gone I sighed.

“I’m counting on you both… I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop myself if I see her current state there myself…” I said as I looked down at the picture in my hand.

‘No matter how much I would like to let you go, In finding it pretty difficult…. seeing that she looks so much like you…. Hasegawa’
