Chapter 15

                                                   Chapter fifteen

                                        ~~~~~ Kylie – Freedom ~~~~~

     She never saw it coming. Kylie never would have thought that she would be on the room next to Alex nor that they would be sharing the same bathroom together.

When waking up, the only thing going through her mind, was how rested she felt. She was not stressed about where she was going to stay or if she would be able to eat today. She didn’t have to worry about getting a job because one was already provided by Rachael. Everything had worked out in the end.

So when she was showering humming to a random song in her head, she never expected to see a shirtless Alex staring at her with wide eyes.

The situation only lasted seconds but to Kylie, it seemed endless.

No matter how hard she tried, Kylie simply couldn’t look away. Once Kylie saw the girl shirtless right before her, she couldn’t bring herself to stop staring and look the other way. Alex had muscles and abs that captured Kylie’s attention for what felt like hours, when in reality she only stared for about 3 seconds.

Alex was not aware that Kylie was in the bathroom taking a shower, but when realizing that she was naked Kylie screamed. She was exposed and her hands and the sponge could only cover so much. The embarrassment was greater than ever before. No one had ever seen her naked, ever. Her body was never exposed till, now. Not even Anthony had ever seen her this exposed. Alex quickly covered herself and was out the bathroom in a blink if an eye. Kylie was left processing everything that had happened in those few seconds while she was still covering her body.

When she was sure that Alex would not return, Kylie quickly finished her shower and left the bathroom as quickly as possibly, stumbling along the way.

She pressed her body to door and banged her head on the door. How could she miss the extra door? Why didn’t she… Many questions entered her mind but one thing was for sure, Alex’s body was something Kylie could stare at all day and night.

She instantly blushed at the thought. She had seen Alex shirtless and almost pant less. But she also saw me naked. she thought to herself.

Deciding to leave it alone, Kylie went to the closet and got her cheer leading inform out with her white sneakers. She took her time putting on lotion remembering when she had caught Alex looking at her… Underwear? No no, she was folding them. She thought trying to convince herself in the process, it worked until she searched and could not find the red underwear nor in her bag or in the dresser.

Kylie laughed as she thought of everything that had happened with the girl. Their first meeting was hard to forget since Alex has hunted Kylie ever since. Their other encounters after that were engraved in her mind not letting her go no matter how hard she tried to forget them.

What Kylie was positive she would never forget in her entire life, was the wonder taste of the girls lips. She would never forget her smile. She would never forget her dark brown eyes. She will never forget the feeling of Alex’s hand in her own. The girl was simply unforgettable. Everything about her was worth remembering. Every flaw was perfect in Kylie’s eyes. Every imperfection was thrown out the window when Alex looked at her with her brown eyes. Nothing mattered. No one, other than the girl, mattered.

Kylie caught herself. She was in too deep. The next step was to fall in love with the girl, that is if she wasn’t in love with her already. No, Kylie thought, I fell for that girl the first moment I laid my eyes on her beautiful face.

Everything has changed in her life since that day. Kylie has for once, chase something she wants and was determined not to give up until she has her beautiful girl, Alex. Kylie was thinking about the future, a future that did not involve Anthony nor anyone else, but only Alexandria Santiago.

When she was descending the stairs she looked up and the the girl staring with her mouth agape. Kylie smiled at the thought that she could cause the girl to stare by just wearing her inform or a simple sun dress.

During breakfast Alex was avoiding Kylie. Every time Kylie looked in the direction of the girl, Alex would simply look away. It was apparent that Alex was embarrassed and did not know how to handle the situation. To Kylie this was just too adorable. The girl was adorable when she was embarrassed.

“How was you’re first night in the Smith residence?” Rachael asked Kylie from the other side of the table. Kylie put her fork down and smiled. “It was the most amazing night I’ve had in a long time.” she responded truthfully.

After her first breakfast with the Smith’s, Kylie went back upstairs to get her things for school. She no longer had to carry her clothes in her gym bag since she would be coming back after school. But she did need the bag for a separate set of clothes since she did not find the uniform comfortable at all.

“At what time is the game?” Mike asked as Kylie came back ready to go.

“It’s at 7.”

Mike grabbed his phone and made a call. “Hey, can you cancel my 6 o’clock and the rest of the day for me? I have something important to do.” There was a pause as Mike listened to the other line and nodded his head. “Thanks.” he said hanging up.

Kylie was surprised. The act had been unexpected. “No mike please don’t do that.” Kylie begged. She was not about to make him change his schedule for her.

“It’s already done.” Mike said smiling a toothy smile. Rachel laughed and like mike pulled out her phone and made a call. She instructed the worker to close the flower shop when leaving and to make sure to turn on the alarm.

“But I thought you were short on employees.’ Kylie stated. Does this mean I don’t have the job anymore? She thought scared out of her mind.

“Don’t worry I got a new employee over the phone yesterday to work in the mornings so you can work for me and still attend school and now games. I also got another worker for a week to work in the afternoons.”

She felt out of place. She never meant for them to change their lives for her. Kylie looked at them carefully. Why are they nice to me? Why did they let me stay in their house, give me a bed and food, when they don’t even know me? She thought to herself.

Did I say that out loud? Kylie looked around but no one seemed to have heard.

“Because we love to help people in need, and because this house is to big for only three people to live in.” Mike looked at Rachael and smiled.

Ok maybe someone did hear her.

Kylie smiled and headed for the door. Alex and Rachael were already in the car. This time Alex was in the front with Rachael. Kylie frowned but got in the car still admiring its beauty.

The first part of the day went on uneventful. Kylie went to class, saw her girl, and went back to yet other class. She couldn’t concentrate so she recorded her classes using her voice recorder she had gotten on her birthday a few years ago. The device proved to be handy on a couple occasions but this was why Kylie loved the thing. It allowed her more time to think, more time to think about Alex.

Anthony was again nowhere to be seen. She searched for him. Kylie went around asking everyone she knew, but no one had seen him. Giving up, she just went on with her day. He will text or call eventually. Kylie said to herself secretly wishing he didn’t.

She gathered her stuff as the bell rang starting lunch and went out the classroom door. The halls were crowed with students going to the lunchroom or going for the door so they could get out the school.

Kylie had an advantage no other student had. She was the captain of the cheer leading team. She was currently dating the hottest guy and the schools football quarterback. She was the “it” girl. The most popular person in school. You were a nobody if Kylie didn’t speak to you. Kylie hated the attention she got but after a while she got used to it.

In the eyes of everyone she was the hottest girl in the whole school with the perfect life. The girls want to be her. The guys want her. She is envied everywhere she goes.

If only they knew what her life was really like. If only they knew what lays behind her smile. If they would only take the time to really talk to her not just envy her or be with her for the attention.

When she walked the halls everyone moved out of her way. She was like a God, an untouchable God. No one was worthy of such a honor as to simply shake her hand. No one that is except for Anthony. He was her boyfriend. He was the only one who could kiss her. The only one who was allowed to touch her.

Alex was there waiting for her when she got to their locker. Kylie smiled pushing every thought aside for now. She had time to think about that later, now all that mattered was Alex. The only one who mattered was her beautiful girl.

“Hey umm about yesterday…” Alex was red and looked at the floor as if it held the most interesting thing in the world. Kylie grabbed the girls chin and made Alex look into her eyes.

Before anything else could happen between them, Kylie felt someone grab her shoulder and spin her around. She was about to say something but couldn’t let out a word out since her lips were too busy being kissed. Kylie didn’t protest. She let Anthony kiss her.

When he was done, Kylie turned around but the girl was gone. She closed her eyes and ran a hand through her hair.

Stupid! stupid! How could I let that happen! Kylie said to herself.

“Kylie we need to talk.” Anthony said making Kylie face him. The words were not new to Kylie. She knew what they meant. Anthony was going to break up with her.

She was shaking with excitement. She would finally be free. She will have no more set backs. She would finally get the girl and be with Alex for real, not just in her head.

“Anthony-” She played the role, the crushed girl role. Fake tears rolled down her face. People were surrounding them now, wanting to know what is happening to their schools perfect couple.

“I love you but-” Anthony looked at her in the eyes. Kylie knew immediately what he was doing. He just wanted attention and be the guy who broke up with the cheerleading captain.

No, Kylie thought, he will not do this. Not if I have a say in it. Two can play at this game.

“how was she?” Anthony had a confused look in his face. Kylie saw as he comprehended what Kylie was going to do and was now scared. Kylie knew about his affair with another girl. She had been itching to find someway to break up with him for it. She is finally in a situation where she can, and publicly humiliating him is just a bonus.

“Come on Anthony, how was she? You know what? you two deserve each other. You are both worthless.” Kylie turned and tried to leave but Anthony grabbed her arm not letting her go.

“Nothing happened.” He said looking around. Everyone was staring at them waiting to see how it will all play out. And right now, things are not looking so great for him.

“I saw you two. You were kissing her., you’re hands under her shirt. Now answer my question, was she any good? Did you mess around with her because you got tired of waiting for me?” Kylie didn’t care anymore she yelled the words at him. Anthony was furious Kylie got out of his grasp and slapped him as hard as she possibly could.

“We are so over.” She said finally walking away from what had been holding her back for the past 3 years. She passed the crowd of people with ease. She saw as Samantha came running down to help Anthony. The images came into her head. She never liked Anthony but thought that he at least cared about her. All that came crashing down when she saw them in the janitors closet a few months ago.

“oh and Samantha, you can have him. If he couldn’t get any with me I guess a second place girl satisfied his needs.” She walked back to them both and stared at the scared couple. “But be aware of one thing, I will no longer take any of your bullshit. I am so done with the both of you.” She pointed to the both of them and walked away.

She walked off with a huge grin on her face. She was free. She was fee to date anyone. She was free to be with Alex. She was Free!

She ran down to the cafe to find the girl. Her hair flew back due to the wind as she was running full speed. She laughed at herself as she saw people staring at her weirdly. They wouldn’t understand. She was happy beyond belief.

She found Alex up on the stage putting a guitar down. She wasted no time as she ran through the crowd trying to get to her girl and tell her the news. When she reached the stage she froze.

A tear fell down her face as she saw what was happening right before her eyes. Everything came crashing down on her. Every thought of them being together disappeared.

There would be no more Kylie and Alex.

After a while, she couldn’t take it anymore and ran off the stage.

 “Kylie!” She heard Alex yell after her but Kylie just kept running. She never turned back. Her dreams shattered as she ran out the cafeteria and out the school building.

And did you honestly think that i would make it that easy for Kylie to get the girl?
