The first sign something was wrong was how late Taylor got home. The second sign was the sound of giggling as shoes were thrown out. Then it was the realization that Taylor brought someone home that finally woke Cameron up.
She quietly peaked through her door, before closing it rapidly when she saw Taylor being pressed against the wall while Kar-whatever was all over her.
She dug her phone out of her bedside table and hid under the cover while opening up her contact with Abigail. This was a secondary best friend emergency.

Three consecutive days of loud sex later, Cameron had invested in earplugs and on the fourth day, she wrote a angry review on amazon regarding how useless the object was. Right after that, she book herself a sleepover with an ex.
“Hey, where are you going?” Taylor looked up from the couch with a frown when she noticed Cameron walking out with a duffle bag.
“Sleepover,” Cameron shrugged and made her way to the door. “Going to any party tonight?”
“No, just a concert,” Taylor’s frown deepened when she noticed Meredith circling Cameron’s feet and- “Is that my cat in my cat carrier?”
Cameron shrugged again. “Lizzie wanted to see Olivia, and she doesn’t seems to mind. She’s the one following around. And the she-devil doesn’t get to come with me to sleepovers.”
“You do realized that’s my cat, right?” Taylor crossed her arms, leaving her phone on the couch. “I pay for them and everything.”
“I thought we agreed to co-parenting. But fine, she can go if she wants,” Cameron placed Olivia down at the floor but Olivia only poked her head up to look at Cameron expectedly before ducking into the carrier again. “SEE! Olivia wants to go with me too!”
Meredith meowed loudly and clawed at Cameron’s leg. She scowled and pointed at the cat. “No sleepover for you.”
Taylor laughed. “At this point you might as well take Meredith too. And I guess I trust Lizzie with them. I haven’t heard from her in a while, we met at a party once though. How is she doing?”
“Great, we just recently reconnected,” Cameron smiled awkwardly before reluctantly picking up Meredith and shoving her in the cat carrier. “Well… have a good night. Don’t do anything I won’t do.”
Cameron ignored the victorious grin Taylor had on her face and rushed out of the apartment. She made a mental note to pick up cleaning supplies on the way back and not to touch anything until everything is wiped down to the T. She glanced down at Meredith and Olivia.
“Your mom has no empathy towards her poor roomates,” Cameron grumbled and Meredith meowed loudly. “I’ll take that as an agreement. You’ll have much more fun with me.”
Meredith sent her a judgmental look and Cameron sighed.

“Not that I mind, but don’t you have a perfect apartment to stay in?” Lizzie welcomed Cameron warmly into her apartment, and Meredith roamed happily around the new place while Olivia curled up in Cameron’s arms, refusing to let go.
“Well yes, if my roomate won’t stop bringing her fuckbuddy home,” Cameron rolled her eyes as she dropped her duffle bag on the ground and pulled Lizzie into a one sided hug. “Thank you so much for letting me stay here. I hope I’m not intruding.”
Lizzie smiled but shook her head. “I promise you’re not intruding. Although a friend might come over for dinner later, but other than that, I’m all yours.”
Cameron smirked. “All mine, huh?”
“Get your mind out of the gutter,” Lizzie rolled her eyes, shoving Cameron playfully. “You can go set up in the guest room. I’m making dinner.”
“Did I ever told you how much I love you?”
“Many times, especially when it involved my food,” Lizzie raised her eyebrows teasingly before making her way towards the kitchen. Cameron laughed, but took her duffle bag and made her way towards the guest bedroom. The familiarity with Lizzie is welcoming, and she felt more at ease than she had for the last week. She set up the travel litter box for Meredith and Olivia as she dumped her duffle bag next to the closet. Meredith padded into the room soon after and jumped onto the bed.
Cameron rolled her eyes. “You could’ve at least said a thank you. I got you away from your mom.”
Another judgemental stare was the only response Cameron got. Step two is getting Olivia unattached from her arms. “Come on, Livvy, your sister is already roaming around, follow her!”
Meredith meowed in protest. “Don’t be rude, Mere. This is your baby sister. You should protect her.”
Olivia grabbed on tightly to Cameron’s jacket when the brunette tried to lower her onto the bed and she sighed. “Guess you have to stick with me for now.”
The smell of food brought Cameron straight back to the kitchen, and for the first time, Olivia finally jumped off to investigate the smell. Lizzie laughed when she saw Cameron standing there. “No, you don’t get to eat anything until I’m done and my guests arrive.”
“Am I not your guest?” Cameron batted her eyes and pouted. Lizzie shot her a look that turned into a smile when the doorbell rang.
“Okay, that’s her. Can you get the door for me?”
“As long as you don’t feed my cat. Meredith and Olivia don’t get to eat before me,” Cameron called over her shoulder while she shot a look at the two cats sitting innocently at the island. Cameron wasn’t sure who she was expecting at the door, but it definitely wasn’t Scarlett fucking Johansson standing there.
Scarlett looked shocked to see Cameron. “You’re not Lizzie.”
“What do you mean? My name is Elizabeth Olsen. I went to NYU, I’m an actress and-”
“KNOCK IT OFF!” Lizzie called from the kitchen to interrupt Cameron’s horrible intimidation of her friend. “AND I DON’T HAVE A- WHAT IS IT? IRISH ACCENT?”
“THAT WAS HOW YOU SOUND LIKE AS WANDA!”
“NO IT ISN’T,” Lizzie yelled as Scarlett stared bemusedly.
“Well, are you going to let me in?” Cameron blinked back into focus and stepped aside to let Scarlett in. “So, who might you be?”
Cameron grinned. “Hi, my name is Cameron and I’m Lizzie’s wife.”
Scarlett froze. “Really? I didn’t know she was married.”
“I didn’t either,” Lizzie came out of the kitchen and pulled Scarlett into a hug. “Ignore her. She’s always like this.”
“Hey, don’t ignore me, I’m awesome,” Cameron pouted again.
“So you two are not married?” Scarlett glanced between the two of them questionably. Cameron shook her head while Scarlett smirked. “Does that mean Cameron is single?”
Cameron bit her lips the same time Lizzie groaned. “I’m not drunk enough for this.”
“Don’t drink too much, I know you’re a lightweight!” Scarlett called out as Lizzie went back into the kitchen. Cameron laughed.
“To answer your question, I am single. Not currently looking for a relationship though, but if you’re up for a friend with benefit situation,” Cameron wiggled her eyebrow and Scarlett smirked. “Plus, I need a little revenge on my roommate.”
“Thin walls?” Scarlett asked, flipping her blonde hair behind her shoulder. Cameron wondered how she got this lucky to have Scarlett fucking Johansson flirting with her.
“Thin walls,” Cameron agreed. “I mean, you’re hot, I’m hot. If you want an one-night stand slash revenge, I’m all in for it.”
“NO PLANNING HOOK-UPS IN MY DINING ROOM!” Lizzie came out of the kitchen carrying two plates of dishing before giving Cameron a look that had her hurrying after the blonde and taking the offered plates.
Scarlett laughed from the dinning room before calling back. “IT’S NOT MY FAULT THAT YOU HAVE HOT FRIENDS! I JUST NEED TO SCRATCH AN ITCH YOU KNOW!”
“I DON’T NEED TO KNOW, THAT’S MY EX-GIRLFRIEND YOU’RE TALKING TO!”
Lizzie came back to the dining room just in time to see Scarlett raise an eyebrow. “Ex-girlfriend you said?”
“She’s wonderful in the bedroom,” Lizzie muttered under her breath and Cameron smirked in response.
“Oh yeah?”
“Want to prove that sentence correct?” Cameron wiggled her eyebrow teasingly and Lizzie flushed red and slumped down onto a dining chair.
“No hook-ups in my house.”
“You’re just jealous you’re not part of this,” Scarlett teased, sitting across from Lizzie while Cameron took a seat beside Scarlett in the small four-people dining table.
“Well, I’m always up for a threesome,” Cameron added teasingly and Lizzie flushed more red if possible.
“I think we broke her.”
“Maybe just a little bit,” Cameron glanced at Lizzie, who crossed her arms over her chest.
“You two are officially banned from my cooking if you keep teasing me.”
“Nothing to say here,” Cameron mimics zipping her lips shut before throwing the key away.
Dinner goes without a hitch for the rest of the night. But at the end of the night, just before Scarlett left the apartment, she pulled Cameron into a hug while shoving a piece of paper into her hands. “In case you were serious, text me.”
Cameron blushed when Scarlett kissed her cheek as goodbye and waved teasingly to Lizzie, who groaned and closed the door behind her. “Well, I’m calling this a night. If you need me, I’ll be in the room at the end of the hall.”
“Goodnight, thanks again for letting me crash here,” Cameron smiled sincerely, and Lizzie smiled back.
“Goodnight Cameron.”
Later when Cameron was laying in bed and debating whether or not she should text Scarlett, fucking Meredith decided for her and press sent on the message she composed.
Cameron groaned, throwing her phone down and hiding under the cover. Olivia crawled beside her and curled up there. Meredith curled up on top of her head. “You are a pain in the ass. Why can’t you be more like your sister?”
A vibration from her phone sent Cameron spiraling again and she found her heart beating out of her chest when she opened the text message.
