Chapter 17

Vanessa

As I was resting in my room I heard a knock on my hotel room door. I shot up with my gun in hand ready to spray whoever was coming at my door at 3am. In the process I woke up Mia. She got here a hour after Q called her. I didn’t tell her everything I told her enough and what I wanted her to know at the moment.

She stirred in her sleep as I removed her from my arm. She was always a hard sleeper when she was sleeping next to me.

As on cue Q and Harland was coming out they rooms with they guns out. As we approached the door. Harland hid behind the front door and Q was on the other side behind the couch facing the door.

“Who it be?” I yelled which made the girls come out there rooms. Trina, Kay and Mia.

Nobody said nun

“Who tf is it” I yelled aggravate at this point

I sprung open the door pointing my gun at whoever was on crack knocking at 3am.

My gun was met with Slias. One dark skin dude was clothes was hella tight. And one medium light skin dude who clothes were tight as well.

“Damn Silas why you up here playing at the door at 3am” I said letting them along with two guards to come in while the other two guards stood at the door.

“I told you young blood if I heard something then I would be the first to tell you” he said sitting down on the couch

“Y’all was about to get sprayed it’s late asl and I’m tired” Harland said coming from behind the door followed by Q coming from behind the couch.

“Shut up Har” Q said thinking what I was gone say to him

“Meet Seven and (friend name in the other book). They been running things in the ATL after my incident” he introduced them

I did a little head nod. I wasn’t into meeting new people at the moment. I was ready to get this shit over with. Christmas was a couple days away and I promised my brother he could spend it with me.

“This has something to do with the connect?” Harland asked eager

“No and yes but that will be discussed later” Silas responded

“So what’s the news?” I said sitting down with my gun on my lap for no reason at all.

Slias looked at the dark skin which I’m guess was Seven and nodded his head. On cue Seven pulled out a fold and handed it to me.

Hesitatingly I grabbed it.

I opened the folder to see pictures

“Nessa what is it? Q asked curious

I got mad all over again.

“They been plotting since day 1” I said angry

“I should have been there when you were going through this at the time” Slias said sadly

“Don’t blame yourself I shouldn’t have been so stupid” I said throwing the information on the table

“What’s the next move?” I asked

“I have a informant who has been working along the side of them. They are holding Quetta in a abandon warehouse same one I started in” He said but it sounded like he wanted to tell me something else

“Is that it?” I asked a little worried and annoyed

“The person is not after you Vanessa. It’s just bait to get to me. I have some unfinished business to handle. I think it’s best I handle it” he said with his head down

“Hell no. We going together” Q said

“Exactly, it’s all of us or none of us” Harland chimed in

Slias looked at us and nodded his head.

“Okay here’s the plan” Slias started

If I was gone get the whole story I had to make one pit stop.

I know shit is about to go down tonight. After reading those files were given to Vanessa, I know she hot.

After Silas gave us the run down Vanessa said she would meet us there but she had to make a stop somewhere. She didn’t tell me where but I had an idea.

As the crew was suiting up I was getting dressed in my room when I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door to see Trina standing there. Right now wasn’t the time or place for the drama. I needed my head to be in this.

“Wassup” I said not waiting for her to respond and resumed to suiting up.

“I know we not the best of terms but I do want to say that I want you to be safe and I love you” she said

I continued to do what I was doing as she was about to walk out I called after her and she turned towards me with not making any eye contact.

At this moment as we stood in front of each other I didn’t know what to say. A part of me wanted to say I love you and I want us to work things out. Then the other part was telling me I love u but we done. I was confused and hurt.

“Ummm……-” as I was about to tell her Harland came busting through the door

“Q it’s time” he said and I nodded

Without saying another word to Trina I walked out. I should have just came right out and said it but the words wouldn’t come out my mouth.

I plan to talk to her as soon as all the shit is over. Right now I needed my head in the game.

“Where is Vanessa” Silas asked looking at me and Harland mostly.

“She stepped out for a min” I said

“She said she will meet us there” Harland said backing me up

I could tell Silas was mad he had this harden look on his face.

Vanessa betta be there.

Pulling up at the warehouse. It was definitely abandon it was trees growing, wood blocking the windows with all types of graffiti on it. I guess Silas said this is where it all started.

“Where the hell is Vanessa” Silas said through gritted teeth

I got right on the phone calling her walking away from the group.

“Come pick up bro” I said to myself

Where the hell are you Vanessa.

Vanessa

“I don’t think I can do this” she said sitting on the passenger seat looking out the window

“Look I know you want revenge and so do I. They not gone get away with this.

“Vanessa I can’t” she cried

Pulling up to the spot everybody was standing there as planned. I see Q, Harland and Silas and the goons crowding around the car.

“Glad you could join us blood” Silas said with a hint of annoyance

“I had to clear some things up and I think everybody would want to hear her side of the story” I explained

“Who?” Harland asked

I lightly jogged around to the passenger seat with them on my heels. I opened the door so she could step out.

“You have to be shitting me” Harland said

“I’m confused” Silas said

“Don’t worry the plan is still in action just a little twist” I said smirking

” I hope you are sure about this……..come on let’s go sun is gone be coming up soon” Silas said

The crew was ready to go and so was I.

Nobody

Drew was growing impatient and he wanted to know what was taking Vanessa so long to get here. He had called her over two hours ago and no money or phone call.

Quetta was going in and out. She didn’t know how long she can hold on before Vanessa finally showed up. Once they stopped beating her she was black and blue. She lost hope and knew nobody want going to save her. She had made so many mistakes in her life. She just wanted Vanessa to know that she loved her.

There was a loud boom by the door making Drew, Drew homies and the unknown female jump.

“What the fuck was that?” Unknown said looking back at Drew. Drew shrugged his shoulders looking terrified.

“Well go see what is it nigga” she yelled at him

“You heard her” Drew yelled at his homie making him smack his lips.

Following directions he walked to the door with his gun still in his pants like a goofy he was. He couldn’t even make it to the door one shot to the head and he was down.

Someone kicked the door down and it was Silas and his crew behind him. Silas may have been in his late 40’s but he was strong as hell.

At this point guns where all pointed at each other.

“I told Vanessa to come along” Drew said running over to Quetta putting the gun to her head.

“Let her go” Vanessa came from behind Silas crew pointing both her guns.

“Just the person I wanted to see” the unknown female said “Glad to see me bby?” She asked smirking

“Terrianna I’m tired, hungry and ready to get this over with. Let’s cut the bullshit and get to it” I said annoyed rolling my eyes

“Well shit let’s get down to business” Drew said laughing crazy

“I have a special guest for you bby. Come on out Daddy” Terrianna called out to whoever it was

As he came out Vanessa and everybody else looked confused including Drew.

“Terrianna who tf is this?” Drew yelled

“Looks like u are bait” Q smirked

“What the fucked is going on Terrianna?” Drew asked getting upset

“Long time no see friend” the unknown guy said standing next to Terrianna looking at Silas

“You are no friend of mines Lester” Silas said pointing his gun at him

“You see me and Silas started off together and everything changed when he switched up on me. He left me and became king pin on atl” Lester explained

“Save is the sob ass story and get to the point” Vanessa said rolling her eyes

As on cue Harland yarned

“You tried to kill me and end up killing my wife you bitch” Silas said. You could tell he was sad and angry.

“She was my bitch first if you want to get technical. But anyways I knew you weren’t dead once they found only one body in the car. I searched and searched for you until I came across the people that worked for you. I watched and watched Vanessa for year’s hustling. I knew you were gone take her under your wing and she was my only way of getting to you” he explained

“What the fuck this got to do with me tho” Vanessa snapped

“I moved to Vegas where I met Kia and she introduced me to Terrianna. I knew it was fate. I started pimping them out trying to come up with a plan to destroy you to get to Silas. Of course Terrianna had her own issues with u and it just made my plan more better. Well that was until Kia meet a former partner of mines and decided to back out the plan which our now dead” he expressed shrugging his shoulders

“So that’s who you was on the phone with when I caught you in the bathroom huh bitch” Vanessa said getting mad all over again

“So let me get this straight you came up a plan to rob Vanessa thinking Silas was gone come from out of hiding so you can get revenge?” Harland asked confused as always

“And running my brother over in the process” Vanessa gritted her teeth looking at a smirking Terrianna

“I mean that wasn’t a part of the plan but it was good right” Lester said chuckling

“But you failed” Q said shrugging

“Yeah the first planned somewhat failed. I need the money but wasn’t enough so there’s where Drew comes in. Terrianna convinced him that they wanted some revenge on Vanessa. The planning of the jumping and following Quetta was all Drew’s plan since Terrianna couldn’t get close to Vanessa” he explained expressing he plans

“Y’all come sick Mfs” Harland said shaking his head

“Well you not the only one who wanted revenge Terrianna” Vanessa said smirking as Jennifer walked behind Terrianna and Lester slicing Terriannas throat.

“That’s for my mother” Jennifer said as Terrianna slowly turned around looking at Jennifer. When Jennifer was gone tell Vanessa about Terrianna and Kia planned. Terrianna killed Jennifer mother while she was fighting cancer.

“You messed with wrong people” Silas yelled

It was war from there.

Beep….Beep….Beep

“How is she doing?” Vanessa dad ask Quetta’s mom

Everybody was in the hospital for their injuries for the events that went down earlier that morning. Quetta suffered from a concussion with bruises and injuries. They also did a rap kit and were working on that. But she was expecting to wake up soon.

Q had a gun shot wound to his shoulder which they treated. Thank God it didn’t hit anything major, they end up taking the bullet out and stitching him up and he took it like a G. Harland had a grazed wound which they happily patched up. Vanessa wasn’t so luck.

Vanessa was currently fighting for her life. She was currently in surgery. She got hit a few times while trying to save Quetta. Once in the back and twice in the stomach.

“Doctor says she is going to make it. It’s gone to take some type for her to recover but a little help from mama she’ll be fine. I hope” she said as tears came down her eyes which she quickly wiped.

“And Vanessa?” She asked looking up at him. She noticed his eyes were blood shot red as the tears kept running down his face.

“They umm th they still working on her” he finally got out nodding his head wiping his tears

“She’s a fighter. Our girls are fighters. They are going to get through this and then we gone beat they ass for getting into wateva mess they got themselves into” Quetta moms says trying to make light of the situation

Quetta mom moves closer to Vanessa’s dad grabbing his hands.

“Pray?” She asked him and he nods as Quetta mom starts the prayer off.

Everything just happened so fast as I thought to myself. Harland, Kay, Trina, Mia, Vanessa brother, some of Silas crew was in the waiting room. From what I heard Quetta was gone pull through but Vanessa they was still working on. My shoulder was in pain but I couldn’t rest until I knew what the word was with my dawg.

“What’s the word?” Silas says walking up to me. I stood up and we walked the other way including Harland

“They still working on Vanessa, Quetta is gone be good tho” I said

“Damn. Look Lester is dead I killed him and made sure of it. Drew got away tho. We gone find him though and bury this shit” he explained

“I was supposed to have her back” I said shaking my head feeling myself about to cry

“Aye don’t beat yourself up about this. I got a good feeling she gone be alright and back to her normal self in no time” Slias said he had something on his face saying he wanted to tell me something but didn’t.

“Yeah you already know how Vanessa gone be. They can’t keep a gangsta down” Harland chimed in

“Anyway I’ll be at the spot so you know where to find me” he said giving me a hug “call me I got sum info” he said in my ear

I looked confused but replaced it. I guess he didn’t want Harland to hear him so I just nodded.

“Alright young bloods will be in touch” he said and walked away with his crew

“Wassup with him?” Harland asked as we watch him and his crew leave

“I don’t know” I responded

It was something that Slias wasn’t telling me but he didn’t want to say it in front of Harland. And I felt that it was kind of weird that he didn’t tell me to keep him updated on Vanessa or Quetta.

That thought went out my mind as somebody tapped me from behind. I turned to see Trina and Harland went back to his seat.

“Wassup” I said grabbing my pain killers out my pocket and popping two in my mouth and drinking from the water fountain behind me.

“Are you okay?” She asks

“I’ll be fine” I said kind of annoyed trying to walk away.

“I’m sorry I was just checking up on you” she says with her arms folded

“How the hell do you think I’m supposed to feel Trina. I got shot and my best muthafucking friend is on her death bed because I didn’t have her fucking back. So no I’m not fucking okay Katrina” I yelled calling her by her real name. I don’t know what came over me but I wasn’t feeling it. I end up walking away before I said anything else I would regret.

“Family of Vanessa” the doctor yells out

Everybody rushed to him.

“Is she okay? Mia asked

“When can we see her?” I asked

“Ummm can I just talk to her father right now” the doctor says

“I’ll be back” her dad says and walks away with the doctor

I rolled my eyes and watched as Vanessa dad talk to the doctor. Then all of a sudden the doctor takes him to the back.

“What the fuck? Where they go” I said confused

“That shit mad weird” Harland says

As we were talking Vanessa dad came out balling with the doctor. Just crying his eyes out. Walking towards us he falls out. They doctor trying to help him and console him at the same time. I knew right then and there. We all ran towards him to help him up.

I didn’t want to hear those words. I didn’t want to believe what was coming next.

“I’m sorry but Vanessa didn’t make it——

I couldn’t hear what else the doctor said because not only did everybody bust out crying but I just tuned him out.

He just pronounced my best friend……dead

My best friend gone.
