Chapter 49
REQUESTED – WandaXNat4
The apartment pulsed with bass, the kind that made the floor vibrate under your heels. Coloured lights flickered across the walls, laughter and chatter bleeding into the music. Dani’s hand was warm in yours as you moved through the crowd, her smile radiant, her energy magnetic.
“You look so good tonight,” she teased, brushing her lips against your ear.
You laughed, nudging her playfully. “You’re biased.”
“Obviously,” she grinned, kissing your cheek before tugging you toward a group of friends.
The two of you mingled easily, Dani’s arm slung around your waist, her flirtation cheeky as always. But one of her friends – Gabriela – a girl you’d met a few times before – had been unusually flirty all night. She laughed too loudly at your jokes, touched your arm too often, leaned in too close.
You stayed polite, smiling faintly, but inside you were uncomfortable. Dani hadn’t noticed yet, too busy catching up with others.
“I’ll grab us another round,” Dani said, kissing your temple before heading toward the kitchen.
You nodded, watching her disappear into the crowd. Immediately, Gabriela slid closer, her hand brushing your arm again.
“So,” she said, voice low, “you and Dani… you’re really serious, huh?”
You stiffened. “Yes. Very.”
She smirked, leaning closer. “Shame. You’re gorgeous.”
You pulled back slightly, keeping your tone firm but polite. “I appreciate the compliment, but I’m in a relationship. Please don’t”
Her grin widened, the alcohol in her system making her bold. “Come on, it’s just fun. Dani doesn’t have to know.”
Your eyes narrowed. “I said no. Respect that.”
Gabriela laughed, brushing her hand against yours again. “Relax. You’re too tense.”
You pulled your hand back sharply. “I’m tense because you’re crossing a line. I’m with Dani. I love her. Stop.”
Her smile faltered, but the drunken haze made her reckless. “You’re acting like I’m some villain. It’s just a kiss.”
You shook your head firmly. “It’s not ‘just a kiss.’ It’s disrespectful. I’ve told you no, and you’re ignoring me.”
She leaned in closer, her breath hot with alcohol. “You’re making this dramatic. You’ll thank me later.”
Your stomach twisted. “No. I won’t. Back off.”
Before you could react, she leaned in, pressing her lips against yours, her hand gripping your arm.
Shock froze you. You shoved her back instantly, eyes wide. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
*
Across the room, Dani had returned with drinks. She froze, eyes narrowing as she saw the scene – you pulling away, the girl leaning in, your expression furious.
Her jaw clenched, drinks abandoned on the counter. She stormed across the room, her voice sharp. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
The crowd quieted, eyes turning toward the confrontation.
Gabriela stumbled back, laughing nervously. “Dani, it’s not a big deal-“
“Not a big deal?” Dani snapped, her voice cutting through the music. “You just kissed my girlfriend. Without her consent. That’s disgusting.”
You stood beside Dani, still shaken. “She wouldn’t stop. I told her no.”
Dani’s eyes blazed. “You heard her say no, and you still did it? Are you out of your mind?”
Gabriela’s smile faltered, her drunken bravado slipping. “I was just drunk. I didn’t mean-“
“Being drunk isn’t an excuse,” Dani shot back. “You crossed a line. You’re supposed to be my friend, and you just disrespected both of us.”
The tension was thick, the crowd watching silently. The girl tried to laugh it off, but Dani’s glare was unrelenting.
“Get out,” Dani said coldly.
“What?”
“You heard me. Get out. You’re not welcome here anymore.”
Security, alerted by the commotion, stepped in. The girl protested weakly, but Dani’s voice was firm. “She kissed my girlfriend without consent. She’s done. Get her out.”
The crowd murmured, some nodding, others whispering. The girl was escorted out, her protests fading into the hallway.
*
As soon as she was gone, Dani turned to you, her expression softening instantly. She cupped your face, her eyes searching. “Are you okay?”
You nodded shakily. “Yeah. Just… shocked.”
Her jaw tightened again. “I swear, I’m going to lose it. She had no right.”
You toughed her arm gently. “I told her no. She didn’t listen.”
Dani pulled you into her arms, hugging you tightly. “I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. She’s not my friend anymore. She’s nothing to me after this.”
The crowd was still watching, the music quieter now. Dani pulled back, her eyes blazing with protective fire. She leaned in, kissing you hard, her hand gripping your waist.
The kiss was fierce, claiming, leaving no doubt. When she pulled back, her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear.
“She’s mine. Don’t forget it.”
The crowd erupted in cheers and laughter, the tension breaking. Dani grinned, kissing you again, softer this time. “I had to make sure everyone knew.”
You laughed, cheeks pink. “You’re ridiculous.”
“And you love it,” she whispered, kissing your forehead.
*
The party slowly returned to normal, but Dani never let go of you. Her arm stayed around your waist, her lips brushing your temple, her voice soft whenever she checked in.
“You’re safe,” she whispered. “I’ve got you.”
Later, as you sat together on the couch, Dani kept venting under her breath. “I can’t believe she thought that was okay. She’s lucky security got to her before I did.”
You squeezed her hand. “You don’t have to fight everyone for me.”
Her eyes softened. “I will if I have to. You’re mine. And I’ll protect you, always.”
You smiled, leaning into her. “I know.”
She kissed you again, softer now, her anger fading into tenderness. “Let’s just enjoy the rest of the night. Forget her. She doesn’t matter.”
And with her arm around you, the music swelling again, you believed her.
