Chapter 10
“Alright, remember you’re asking her” Sasha said to Lux before she unlocked the front door to her house. She knew there would be no way her parents would let her spend the night at Lux’s if she had asked, so as far as she was concerned she wouldn’t even try.
“Oh I know, I know” Lux flagged her, “Open up”.
Sasha playfully rolled her eyes, next inserting her key and pushing open the front door. To her surprise there was no smell of dinner cooking for the first time in, well ever, and Sasha drew a peculiar expression at the absence of smell. Instead, her mother sat at the dinner table alone as she searched through a bank statement.
“Hey mom, when’s dinner starting?” Sasha asked as the two approached the dining room.
“No dinner today” her mother answered, not even bothering to look up, “Just…order a pizza”
“A pizza?” Sasha said making sure she heard correctly.
“Yes, a pizza Sasha. Is that so hard?” Her mother semi- snapped as she looked up.
“Sorry” she let out a deep breath, “You two…just look up the pizza store’s number from up the street and call. And just let me know when he’s here”
“Okay….” Sasha nodded, still trying to figure out what was going on, “But umm ~”
“I was wondering if Sasha could spend the night on Friday after school. My GG said it’s fine and if you want to call her ~” Lux jumped in.
“No, no its okay” Myda mumbled, her head now back into the scatter of papers, “She can go”.
Sasha and Lux shared a confused expression, however Lux wasn’t dumb. She knew when a parent said yes, you’d better not question it and give them time to say change their mind.
“Okay, thanks” Lux smiled, grabbing Sasha’s arm and pulling her towards the upstairs.
Sasha was glad that her mother said yes, but was truly astonished as Myda never said yes to anything that didn’t align with her or her father’s wishes. Still, she knew just as good as Lux that it was best to just take it and run with it.
“What the hell was that about?” Sasha said perplexed as she dropped her book bag.
“Who cares” Lux replied, kicking off her shoes, “She said yes”
“And she didn’t even ask about the uniform, what a waste” Sasha rolled her eyes as she plopped back onto the bed.
“Oh no, she’s going to see that uniform by the end of tonight” Lux laughed as she lined herself up with Sasha.
She began to run her fingers through her hair, and watched as Sasha’s curls hugged her finger tips when she got to the ends. She continued to gaze as Sasha ordered the large pepperoni, and was happy for that because her stomach began to growl.
“Thanks for doing that by the way” Sasha smirked, her head now resting on Lux’s shoulder, “I know you hated going in there and talking to … what do you call them?”
“Birds” Lux said out loud and the two laughed, “But no problem. Plus, I really wanted a girl’s night”.
“A girl’s night, really Lux” Sasha chuckled as she stood up and began to change.
She pulled her shirt over her head as always, revealing her wife beater underneath. Lux watched her as she pulled her hair into a high bun, and then pulled down her pants that hid boy shorts underneath.
Next, she began to feed her bunny a few carrots from her back pack, and Lux just couldn’t help but steal a few more glances before redirecting her attention.
“Yes really” Lux nodded as she began to dig through her book bag for her work, “We’ll do each other’s hair, make up, pillow fights ~”
Seeing Sasha’s expression, she doubled over in laughter.
“I’m kidding, peaches” she smiled, calling Sasha her nick name she came up with, “We can do whatever you want to do”.
“Like what, watch sports?” Sasha smirked.
Lux twisted her mouth, “If we must, but…”
“You know its always a but with you” Sasha rolled her eyes upwards.
“I like to negotiate” Lux shrugged.
“Fine, go head. But…”
Before Lux could answer, Sasha’s laptop began to go off and they both knew exactly who it was.
“What up Sash” Chris smiled once the video clicked on, and Sasha nodded.
“What’s up”
Lux rolled her eyes as she pretended to look through their literature book, however she was all ears in their conversation.
“Nothing much…I see you’re alone today” Chris scoffed.
“Actually I’m not” Sasha smiled uneasily, next turning the camera towards Lux.
“Oh…Lux” Chris said as if it was no surprise, and Lux caught his tone.
She snickered to herself, and Sasha immediately caught the tension between the two. Deep down she had a feeling it had to do with the fact that she was having a hard time balancing two close friends. While she was use to only talking to her best friend Chris, now that Sasha actually had friends in Philly, plus basketball practice and school work, she didn’t have time to chat anymore. Chris was used to talking to Sasha for hours, whereas now the two only talked a few times a week for a few minutes at a time. And while Sasha blamed it on being busy, Chris felt it was really Lux that was taking up all her time. Lux was always around, and while at first he thought she was cool he began to feel differently.
“Hey Chris, don’t worry I won’t listen as you confess your love to Sasha”
“Ha…very funny. Hit me up later Sash” Chris said suddenly not in the mood to talk.
“You sure?” Sasha asked him, “We just got on the call”
“Yeah I’m sure, plus I know you’re busy with school work. Just, text me”
Sasha could read him very well, and made a note to talk to him when Lux wasn’t around.
“Okay, By~”
Without saying bye, Chris closed out the chat and Sasha scrunched her brows.
“Everyone is acting so weird today” she said as she laid back down onto the bed.
“Don’t worry about him, he’s just jealous” Lux smirked knowingly.
“What could he possibly be jealous about?”
“Well for one, he likes you”
Sasha looked at Lux as if she was crazy, and then began to laugh. However Lux’s expression was solid as she continued to complete her anatomy homework.
Sasha shook her head, “You have Chris all wrong”
“Okayyy, don’t say I didn’t tell you” Lux shrugged.
“Well I guess you would know, since Zay likes you” Sasha said slickly.
“He likes anything with a pulse”
Sasha twisted her mouth, but didn’t respond. After a few minutes she finally pushed their convo to the back of her mind and decided to start her homework. She tried her best to complete it as the two sat in silence, only the sound of their pens scribbling on their papers filling up the room. She had one more thing on her mind that she had been thinking about all day, and she finally decided to just out and say it.
“So, do you like him?” She asked.
Lux glanced up from her paper, “Zay? As a friend or ride to school yeah” she chuckled.
“Oh okay”
The two grew quiet once more, and Sasha still hadn’t received the information about what Zay meant earlier that day. However she wasn’t good with words, and didn’t even understand why she wanted to know. Still, she had to know.
“Do you like anybody at school?” Sasha asked, trying to get the conversation flowing again.
“Yes” Lux answered without a hesitation, “Didn’t we go over this already”
“Oh yeah…at the party. In the bathroom”
“Oh, so you do remember the bathroom?” Lux snickered, “What else do you remember”
“Getting high” Sasha chuckled nervously, knowing thats not what Lux meant.
“Yeah that was fun…but I meant something else”
The two shared a glance, and Lux knew that she was going to have to lead Sasha to water. It was clear that she was having trouble with her feelings, and Lux could tell as she beat around the bush instead of outright asking what she wanted to.
“I meant when we kissed” she revealed.
Sasha blushed slightly but was glad she was the one to say it, “Right.. I remember that”
“Then why didn’t we talk about it?”
“I don’t know…you didn’t say anything after so neither did I. Plus, I don’t….nevermind”
“Ugh I hate when you do that” Lux rolled her eyes.
She stood up from the bed and began to clean up her work as she was finally done. Sasha was perplexed, as she she didn’t know what Lux meant.
“Do what?” She scoffed.
“Nevermind” Lux mimicked her, “You never speak your mind. Not to your parents, not to me”
“Wow, really? We’re bringing my parents into this?”
“I’m just saying” Lux let out a breath, “You always back track”
“I don’t” Sasha snickered, “I was going to say I don’t know how I feel about it. I told you I’ve never dated, or liked anybody”
“So you like me?” Lux smirked, bouncing her brows.
“Maybe” Sasha smiled with a light chuckle, and as always Lux fell in love with her baby face. At the moment she was nervously playing with her hair as she constantly did, and she was barely giving Lux any eye contact.
“Well did you like our kiss?” Lux asked, now intrigued and wondering how much she could get out of Sasha.
Sasha looked up at her, and Lux’s expression told her she craved the answer.
“I did” Sasha admitted.
“I did too” Lux smiled slyly, “And it’s okay, I know you don’t date. That’s why I didn’t say anything”
“Well it’s not that I don’t, I just haven’t. It’s a difference” Sasha shrugged.
“Do you want to?” Lux asked.
“What, date you?” Sasha raised her brow.
“Damn why you gotta say it like that” Lux doubled over in laughter, “No…not me. Well, possibly. But I mean anybody. Boys, girls, do you want to date anyone?”
“I don’t know….never thought about it until now. Before we moved here, I never got to do anything so it was kind of pointless. Plus, I’m hella awkward”
“Yeah, that I can agree with” Lux nodded as she laid back onto the bed.
Sasha playfully mugged her and she giggled. Lux hit her back, and it wasn’t long before the two began to tussle back and forth as always. Sasha definitely had more muscle, and while Lux was quick she usually called uncle because Sasha was way too rough for her and would eventually really hurt her.
Sasha pinned her down, and the two shared a long glance as their chests heaved in and out from the rush. Sasha could feel her mouth become dry just like whenever she felt nervous, and Lux knew it was now or never to finally get the one thing she had been thinking about since the beginning of that month.
She tilted her head up and covered Sasha’s mouth with hers, giving her a soft peck as if she was asking for permission for more. Sasha was hesitant, but after thinking of Chris’s words she knew she would never know what she liked unless she tried it.
Her heart was thumping, and her breathing was definitely irregular, however she closed her eyes and dived in. Lux was happy for that, and guided Sasha’s mouth to follow hers. Lux resisted to smile in between the lingering kiss, as she too was now actually feeling nervous but in a good way. Unlike Sasha, she was sure of her feelings and understood them.
Sasha got the hang of it quickly, and before she knew it she was having her first make out session. The familiar tingle in between her legs began to emerge, especially when Lux took her hand and placed it underneath her shirt, letting her fingers pull back her bra. Sasha wasn’t sure what she was doing, only mimicking what she saw in the lesbian x-rated video and it seemed to be working.
“Sasha!”
Hearing her name being called, the two hopped out of their trance.
“Yes!” Sasha shouted back, hopping up from the bed.
Seeing that her door was unlocked, she was more than relieved that the two stopped immediately. That was another problem in her life that she didn’t need.
“The food is here” her mother shouted back from downstairs.
“You ready to eat?” Sasha asked turning to Lux who was still trying to get her head together.
If she didn’t like Sasha before, their mini make out session surely did it. Sasha felt the same, and while she was still a little confused on the whole overall sexuality thing, she did know that she liked kissing Lux. The two smirked knowingly before leaving the room to go eat, and Sasha closed the room door behind her. She also made a note to lock the door next time.
“Now, no earrings, no facial piercings in during practice because I do not want anything getting caught and ripped out. We do a lot of stunts, meaning I need girls who understand team work. There is no I in team, so unless you can do a whole routine alone at this year’s cheer competition and bring home the trophy, no one’s ego should be big. Got it?”
Lux crept into the gym, running a few minutes behind for Cheer practice as she didn’t exactly want to be there. She assumed her deal with Sasha would be just in and out, however it seemed as though Sasha needed her to play make believe for a little while longer since her mother never got the chance to see the uniform.
After calling the two down for dinner, Myda left out the house and said she was making a run, leaving the kids alone. They were happy about that however, as it gave them a chance to eat in Sasha’s room. And while the two never finished puckering lips, both couldn’t get it out of their heads.
Lux looked across the gym as the girl’s team had a meeting to go over the schedule for the scrimmage games coming up, and she immediately spotted Sasha as she sat at the bottom right, her head in her hands as she listened to the man talk and talk.
“You must be Lux” the cheer coach spoke, breaking Lux out of her trance.
“Oh, yeah” Lux shook her head, “That’s me”
“Take a spot behind Amber” she pointed towards the ginger haired girl, leaving Lux to drop her bag onto the bleachers and get in line.
“Okay, so first I’m going to have you all run laps around the school”
The school? Like the whole school? Lux mused to herself.
“Yes, the entire school” The coached answered as if she could hear her thoughts, “So, let’s all meet up outside and get started”
Lux rolled her eyes, and the large group of girls began to head out. And even though Lux was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt for the practice, it was still pretty hot out in the September sun. She scolded Sasha, and Sasha shrugged with an uneasy expression as if to say sorry.
Lux definitely wasn’t the work out type, and she’d rather be on the bleachers eating her hot cheetos as always.
The coach blew the whistle once the girls were outside, signaling for them to start. They all began to jog within a few inches of each other, and Lux cursed in her head as she picked up her feet.
“Come on missy!” Coached shouted, blowing the whistle damn near in her ear.
Lux gave the lady a look but kept it pushing, knowing she had to push through for a few more days to keep the stupid uniform. While she jogged she kept her head down, and tried her best to ignore the sun beaming down onto her. The crowd of girls weren’t making it any better, as she hated being in groups with people she didn’t know.
“I’m glad you decided to join” Amber panted as she caught up with Lux, “What made you”
“A friend suggested it” Lux responded, trying to keep her breath steady.
“Cool, so, where you from?”
“Umm, not too far from here” Lux answered, her eyes squinting from the sun.
“Like northeast, or frankford?”
She could tell the girl was trying to be nice, however right now wasn’t exactly the best time to get to know each other.
“I’ll catch up with you” Lux panted, taking a much needed break.
She didn’t know if that was allowed, but she needed one. She also wanted to get rid of Amber. She let a few girls pass her, and she made sure coach wasn’t around as she slowed up her jogging pace. Finally making it half way around the school, she spotted Sasha coming out of the back exit from the gym.
“Don’t be mad, you’re getting exercise” Sasha joked as Lux gave her a grizzly.
“Sasha, I’m sweating. You know I don’t like to sweat” Lux said peeling her shirt off her wet skin.
“I owe you big time for this, I promise” Sasha smiled.
“Oh I know” Lux smirked deviously, “So be ready for that makeover Friday, lashes too”
Seeing the coach come around the corner, Lux began to start back up her jogging.
“Really!??” Sasha shouted after her.
“Yup!” Lux yelled from afar as she ran backwards and laughed.
She quickly turned back around before she embarrassed herself, and Sasha laughed to herself. She shook her head and headed home, and knew she’d better get ready for Friday.
