Chapter 26
Becky’s phone suddenly rang loudly just when she was about to push open the restaurant door causing her movement to stop halfway as she immediately looked down at the caller ID displayed on the screen before letting out a quiet sigh the moment she saw Ayon’s name appearing there.
She knew something was going on at the company.
Freen, who was already standing beside her while holding Fastian’s hand and watching Fahnareeh trying to pull Fosbein toward the dessert display near the entrance, slowly motioned for Becky to answer the call first while silently telling her that she would handle the children.
Becky nodded slightly before placing the phone against her ear.
The family then entered the restaurant first while Becky remained near the entrance for a few more seconds. She listening carefully to her personal assistant’s rushed explanation regarding the newly opened England branch of Beckangels which apparently was already causing several problems despite only operating for a short period of time.
After a few moments, Becky finally walked toward the table where Freen and the triplets were already seated while still continuing the call without interruption. Her expression slowly turning more serious with every word Ayon spoke from the other side of the line.
“Okay, I’m going there. Please book a flight ticket today. As soon as possible,” said Becky firmly with the cold and professional aura she naturally carried whenever business matters became involved, making her completely different from the soft and patient mother the triplets usually saw at home.
Ayon, who sounded extremely panicked through the phone, immediately continued talking without even taking a breath.
“How many tickets would you like me to book? Who will look after the triplets while you’re there? You will be staying in England for two weeks,” explained Ayon anxiously.
Becky immediately pinched the bridge of her nose while leaning slightly back against the chair, exhaustion visibly appearing across her face because even though she looked calm on the outside, she was honestly just as worried as Ayon regarding the children.
“About the tickets, give me five minutes first and I’ll tell you how many you should buy,” Becky answered while glancing toward the triplets who were already staring at her curiously. “And don’t worry too much about the triplets.”
Even after saying those words, Becky herself did not sound fully convinced.
After ending the call temporarily, Becky slowly placed her phone on top of the table before exhaling harshly without realizing that all three children, including Freen, were already watching her carefully.
“Mommy, are you okay?,” asked Fosbein softly, his small eyebrows furrowing immediately after seeing the tired expression on Becky’s face.
Becky’s expression instantly softened the moment she looked at him.
“I’m okay, baby,” Becky answered gently before taking a sip from the juice Freen had already ordered for her earlier.
“I’m your first baby before them,” Freen suddenly mumbled under her breath while rolling her eyes dramatically after hearing Becky call Fosbein with such affectionate words.
Becky immediately noticed the change in Freen’s expression, but instead of responding, she simply ignored it because she already knew very well how sensitive Freen could become during her period days, especially over small and ridiculous things that normally would not even bother her.
“I have to go to England,” Becky finally said seriously after placing the glass back onto the table. “I need to stay there for two weeks.”
The cheerful atmosphere around the table immediately became quieter.
“Mommy leaving us again?,” asked Fastian with visible disappointment written across his face as he slowly stopped eating.
Becky immediately reached over and stroked his hair gently.
“Mommy promises to come back as soon as possible,” Becky explained patiently. “If possible, mommy will shorten the trip into only two or three days.”
“Whose aunty will stay with us?,” asked Fahnareeh curiously while hugging her spoon.
“You will stay with your grandparents,” Becky answered calmly.
Before the triplets could react, Freen suddenly spoke.
“Let me take care of them.”
Becky immediately turned toward Freen with visible doubt.
“Are you sure?,” Becky asked honestly before narrowing her eyes slightly. “It’s honestly hard to believe you.”
Freen immediately scoffed dramatically.
“I can do it,” Freen defended herself while crossing her arms confidently. “I’ll update you about them every day. Four times a day if you want. Morning, afternoon, evening, and before sleeping. Is that enough for you?”
After staring at Freen for a few seconds, Becky finally nodded her head slowly.
Meanwhile, Fahnareeh suddenly lifted her head again as if she had just remembered something important.
“Mommy said there will be work in England, right?”
“Yes,” Becky answered.
Fahnareeh then looked at Fastian silently.
Fastian immediately looked back at her before both of them smiled mischievously at the exact same time as though they had secretly discussed something using telepathy.
“Bring phi Rox,” said Fastian confidently while pointing toward Fosbein who was still quietly eating beside Freen. “He wants to go there.”
Becky sighed softly because that suggestion was exactly what she had already been thinking about from the beginning.
“Mommy actually thought about bringing phi Rox with me,” Becky admitted honestly while looking toward Fosbein. “But mommy didn’t know how to persuade you and Nareeh when both of you would definitely want to come too. Mommy doesn’t want to bring both of you because you still need to go for doctor check-ups these few days and Nareeh isn’t very strong with cold weather yet.”
“We will fine,” said Fahnareeh. “We have daddy to take care me and phi Tian.”
“Okay,” said Becky.
“Phi Rox must buy us toys,” said Fahnareeh excitedly before hugging Fosbein tightly from the side while nearly making him choke on his food.
“I will buy many toys,” Fosbein answered calmly while continuing to eat as if this conversation was completely normal. “Using mommy’s money.”
Freen laughed loudly while Becky immediately looked at Fosbein in disbelief.
“You already learned how to spend my money confidently?,” Becky asked.
“He learned from daddy,” Fastian answered quickly.
“I heard that,” Freen muttered shamelessly.
Becky eventually picked up her phone again before sending a message to Ayon, asking him to immediately purchase three flight tickets as soon as possible.
“Becky, are you leaving right after eating?,” Freen asked afterward.
“No,” Becky answered while putting her phone down again. “I’ll go home first to pack Rox’s things and mine.”
“Then let us send both of you to the airport later.”
This time Becky did not reject the offer. She simply nodded quietly.
After finishing dinner, the family finally returned home together.
The moment they arrived, the peaceful atmosphere inside the house immediately disappeared because Fastian and Fahnareeh became overly excited after realizing Fosbein would soon be going overseas with Becky.
“Let me pack Fosbein’s stuff,” said Freen while taking the luggage out from the closet. “You can pack yours.”
Becky nodded her head before walking toward her bedroom to prepare her own belongings and work documents.
Meanwhile, Fosbein sat quietly near the luggage while watching his younger siblings running around the room excitedly.
“Phi Rox, bring this!,” Fastian shouted while showing a toy sword proudly before throwing it inside the luggage without permission.
“This is important,” Fahnareeh added seriously while tossing a Batman doll into the luggage too as if Fosbein was preparing for war instead of a business trip.
Freen, who had been carefully folding Fosbein’s clothes from earlier, immediately sighed tiredly while continuously removing the random toys Fastian and Fahnareeh kept throwing inside the luggage every few seconds.
Fosbein, on the other hand, simply nodded obediently every time his siblings asked him to bring something.
“This also,” said Fahnareeh again while carrying her favourite plushie carefully. “You must bring my favourite plushie in this world.”
“Nareeh,” Fosbein spoke softly while taking the plushie back out from the luggage. “This plushie always accompany you sleep.”
“I have another one,” Fahnareeh answered confidently without hesitation.
Before anyone could continue the conversation, Fastian suddenly appeared again.
“Phi Rox, bring this katana too!”
The toy immediately landed inside the luggage again.
Freen finally exhaled deeply before looking at Fastian helplessly.
“Enough, Tian,” Freen said while rubbing her forehead dramatically. “Your mommy will become Hulk later if she sees this luggage.”
Fastian immediately gasped loudly.
“Then daddy must become Daddy Hulk too,” Fastian declared proudly. “Daddy Hulk need fight mommy Hulk.”
Freen immediately laughed before purposely messing up Fastian’s hair.
“Daddy!,” Fastian whined while fixing his messy hair quickly. “I will not handsome later.”
“You’re handsome in every condition,” Freen answered naturally before pinching his cheek lightly.
“Now go play with your siblings first. Daddy wants to help your mommy.”
Satisfied after receiving praise, Fastian quickly ran away again.
A few moments later, Freen walked toward Becky’s bedroom before knocking gently on the door.
Becky, who was sitting near the table while writing something inside a notebook, immediately looked up.
“Come in.”
Freen entered the room slowly.
“Have you prepared Rox’s stuff?,” Becky asked while continuing to write without stopping.
“Done,” Freen answered while standing beside Becky. “What are you doing?”
“I’m writing down everything they can’t eat,” Becky explained while continuing to fill the notebook carefully.
“Ohh… okay,” Freen responded quietly while glancing at the detailed notes inside the notebook.
A few seconds later, Becky suddenly remembered something.
“Oh… I forgot to tell you,” Becky said while finally lifting her head. “You don’t need to send me and Rox later. Ayon will come here to pick us up.”
Freen frowned slightly.
“What about the car he’ll use later?,”
Freen asked.
“His sister will drive it back,” Becky answered calmly before continuing her writing once again. “Let’s go to the kitchen area.”
Without saying anything else, Freen followed closely behind Becky.
The moment they arrived in the kitchen, Becky immediately began explaining everything in detail, pointing at different cabinets and shelves one by one with the seriousness of someone giving instructions to a child who could accidentally burn the entire house down if left unsupervised.
“Snacks are here. Dry food is in here and the kids’ vitamins are on the second shelf. The emergency kit is here if something happened near this area. Oh..but the way please do…”
Before Becky could even finish her sentence, Freen suddenly stepped closer and pressed a quick kiss against Becky’s lips, successfully cutting her words off mid-sentence.
“Wow,” Freen said with an amused grin lingering on her face. “Your sweet lips can actually stay quiet for a minute if I kiss them.”
Becky instantly clenched her fists tightly at her sides, forcing herself to inhale slowly before she exploded right there in the kitchen.
“Can you just focus when I’m explaining something?” Becky asked through gritted teeth while trying very hard to restrain herself from scolding Freen properly. “And please don’t kiss me.”
Freen only leaned lazily against the counter, clearly entertained by Becky’s reaction instead of feeling guilty about it.
“I know deep inside, you still love me,” Freen said confidently.
“In your dreams,” Becky replied without hesitation. “Now listen carefully.”
Freen let out a small chuckle before her expression softened slightly with honesty.
Becky stared at her silently for a few seconds before finally sighing in defeat, already knowing arguing with Freen would only drag this conversation endlessly.
She walked toward another cabinet before opening it carefully.
“The chamomile tea stock is inside here,” Becky explained while showing the exact place. “Don’t forget to make tea when your cramps start.”
Then she moved toward another section of the kitchen and pulled out several containers.
“And if you want hot chocolate, the chocolate powder is inside this container,” Becky continued while showing more places around the kitchen where she had kept things Freen usually wanted during her period without even realizing she still remembered every little detail about Freen’s habits when come to food.
“Last but not least,” Becky added while crossing her arms, “don’t you dare eat spicy food during your period.”
Freen could no longer hold back her laughter after hearing Becky continue nagging despite repeatedly claiming she no longer cared.
“You look cute when you start bubbling like this,” Freen teased softly before quickly leaning forward to kiss Becky’s cheek.
The second she did that, Freen immediately ran away from the kitchen before Becky could throw something at her.
Meanwhile, Becky could only roll her eyes in annoyance, although the faint redness slowly creeping onto her cheeks betrayed her far more than she wanted.
