Aria’s P.O.V

Immediately the magic circles under our feet lit up as we we’re then engulfed in flames.

‘…I swear it’s like one after thr other at this point.’ I thought as I let the flames burn on.

‘Well I guess I should see who messed with me this time… Hopefully it doesn’t turn out like Zetsuya.’ I thought as I took off my mask and began to devour the flames quickly.

Once I was done I placed my mask back on just in time for Tomoe to swipe the flames away from her unharmed.

“We probably should have just dodged to not draw much more attention.” I said as Tomoe gave me a grin.

“Well, I needed to figure how strong these assassins are.” Tomoe said making me raise a brow.

“Assassins?” I questioned.

“There we’re people watching us back at the Inn. We figured out what they we’re plotting.” Tomoe told me making me nod in understanding

‘She must’ve used her memory magic.’ I thought as I sighed at the fact that I found myself in some more trouble.

“And came here to protect you(join in the fun) Young Miss.” Tomoe said making me sweat drop.

“Your real intentions are slipping out Tomoe.” I told her.

“No, No… You really just called us at the perfect time.” She said denying my words despite their truth.

‘So assassins… I don’t recall doing anything that will offend someone to send them. Maybe it has something do with the rumor surrounding the request they sent out.’ I thought.

“We know you’re there, show yourselves!” Tomoe shouted out towards the nearby forest where multiple scents laid.

Immediately two people came out the forest as the others laid still though ready to move.

‘Saki:Search‘ I casted as I got a confirmed count of how may people there actually was.

‘There’s more than 30 of them. ‘ I thought with a wryly smile under my mask.

“Hey, Miss in the black clothes, I’m sure you can tell how many of us there are. Don’t you think it’d be in your best interest to come over to out side?” The silver haired gut said towards Mio making me raise brow.

“What are-“Mio was about to say but got cut off by me mentally.

Couple of seconds we’re spent in silence, but them Mio replied to the guy.

“…Oh my, are you asking me to do that for free?” Mio asked.

[Wait? What?! Mio?!] I said feigning shock.

“Of course not, how does ten gold coins sound?” He said making me almost giggle behind my mask.

‘That is so cheap, really.’ I thought.

“Very well then, I won’t get involved this time.” Mio replied.

“Mio, you bitch!” Tomoe said as she threw a fake punch at Mio, that was easily dodged as Mio made her way towards the two.

“You can pay me afterwards let’s hope don’t get taken out too quickly.”Mio said as she walked over to a rock to sit on.

“Haha! Lady I like the way you think!” The guy complimented.

“Sorry, but that’s just how the world works.” He said as he looked towards me and Mio.

“You bastard! I’m more than enough to deal with all of you!” Tomoe told him as I just stayed quiet on the side.

‘Is that good enough for you, Young Miss?‘ Mio asked with a small giggle.

‘Yes, Thanks for playing along Mio.‘ I replied.

‘The last thing we need is a repeat of Zetsuya.’ I thought.

‘But I didn’t expect of you to demand money, that’s great thinking.‘ I complimented.

‘That should be expected for troubling you, Young Miss.‘ She told me making me give a small amused giggle.

‘This girl…’I thought.

Soon the silvered hair guy whistled and the people hiding started coming out and surrounding me and Tomoe.

Seeing this I could only sigh at how troubling this was going to be.

‘I’ve been waiting for a moment like this! It’s got my blood pumping!‘ Tomoe told me as I just sighed once again.

‘You can have your fun, just don’t get carried away.‘ I told her.

‘How much should I hold back?‘ She asked me.

“That’s what you deserve for getting involved with Rembrant!” The silver haired guy said.

‘Just give them a good beating, I don’t want them dead.’ I told her as she nodded.

Immediately after I had to dodge a sword swing to the head.

‘Hm.’ I thought as easily started to dodge and parry any attack that came towards me.

After a couple of seconds I noticed that the number of assassins wasn’t dwindling down.

‘Aye Tomoe? What are you doing? You wanted this right? So start it up.you ‘ I told her.

‘But you didn’t give the signal Young Miss.‘ She said making me raise a brow.

‘Signal?’ I questioned as I dodged a sword as side kicked a guy in the gut sending him back as I then dodged another strike effortlessly.

‘Come on now, Young Miss. You know we can’t start without that.‘ Tomoe told me as she dodged a strike as well.

‘The elderly noblemans traditional signal for the start of battle!‘ Tomoe told me as stood still.

“What?”I questioned as I was about to be attacked by an axe, but I simply chopped the person hand mid swing making the drop their weapon as they looked at their now numb and frozen hand.

Sighing I waved my hand to clear out some of the fodder as they all flew into the forest due to the air.

‘Please don’t tell me you want me to say that?‘ I asked as she nodded and smiled at me excitedly.

‘She really wants to hear it…’I thought as I could only sigh.

“T-Tomoe… I-I think this calls for some punishment.” I said with lightly red cheeks.

“Yes, Ma’am!” She responded happily.

I could only sigh at my embarrassment.

‘I hope I never have to say that again.’ I thought.

Once Tomoe was done beating the group up. She looked towards the two who first came out.

“Mmm… It’s just you two now.” Tomoe said with a grin making the two flinch.

“Hey Lady, help us out here! We need your help!” Thr guy said towards Mio.

“Hm? I said I won’t get involved this time. I never said I’ll help you.” Mio told him.

“Wh- but we’re paying you! ” He shouted.

“If you live to give me the money or if I take from your corpse, it doesn’t matter right?” Mio said with a threatening and mencaing smile.

“Th-This ain’t funny! Sorry but I have no reason to stick around any longer.” The other guy said as he began chanting a spell.

“You’re gonna run away?!” The silver haired guy shouted towards him.

“Young Miss that’s a teleportation spell.” Tomoe told me as I nodded.

“Understood.” I said as with one step I disappeared and reappeared right infront of the guy surprising him greatly.

“Huh?!” he said as my hand came close to his face.

“Exuse me!” I said as I palmed his face.

“Oh, it’s the one punch!” I heard Tomoe shout as I then sent the guy flying and rolling into the forest.

‘I feel like there was weird explanation earlier.’ I thought.

“Well done, Young Miss!” Tomoe said as I nodded.

“Don’t fuck with me! I’m Lime Latte, the number one Adventurer in Tsilge!” He said as I raised a brow.

‘Hm, So this is the top Adventurer. Well not really all that impressed really.’ I thought as he charged towards Tomoe and attacked.

“You’re the only one left.” Tomoe said before breaking his sword with her hand and landing a blow right on the side of his face.

She then kicked him away making him go back a bit.

Hovering over him with the blade drawn, Tomoe stared down at guy.

“P-Please! Spare me! I’ll do anything!” He said as I stared at him from the side.

‘Please don’t tell me that all top ranked adventurers are just small time villains…’ I thought with a slight frown.

Tomoe then plunged the long sword into the ground right near him as he flinched from the sound of it.

“Young Miss, do you want to question him?” Tomoe asked me as I nodded and walked up to her side.

[Even after planning to ambush me and doing something as troublesome as preventing a curse from being dispeled. You still have the nerve to ask for mercy?] I asked him.

“E-Even I feel bad about stealing girls teenage years by using a sleeping curse…” He replied making me raise a brow.

[Sleeping Curse? Where did you hear such nonsense from?] I asked making him look at me confused.

[Listen, I don’t understand what you think you know, but what those girls had was a level 8 Curse Disease that had some pretty nasty features.] I told him shocking him even more.

[A/N: As I read this Manga I honesty have no idea why the Mc is getting angry or annoyed. Probably it’s just me blending myself into Aria.]

“A… Curse… Disease?” He questioned.

“Drop the act!” Tomoe shouted at him.

“I-I’m not lying!” He responded as I listened to his heartbeat.

‘He… He’s telling the truth.’ I thought.

‘Tomoe please check his memories.‘ I asked her.

‘As you wish.‘ She replied.

“It started a few months ago at my favorite bar…” Lime began to explain.

As it turns out the man who inflicted the curse had reached out to Lime in the bar using Patrick’s latest organization which was taking the lower level request from the guild and fulfilling them making many young and new adventurers die off.

Using this the caster rallied up the adventurers and Lime so that he could propose a protest. Which involved casting a ‘sleeping curse’ which could only be cured with medicine only adventurers can obtain which was Ruby Eyes.

“The old shaman put the plan into action… and got caught by Rembrant… After that, we couldn’t stop… He said that they’d just sleep for a few years, but they wouldn’t be in danger…”Lime explained as Tomoe nodded at his words making me sigha beneath my mask.

‘So the shaman used the adventurers to prevent it from being done. Though that still doesn’t answer the motive. There aren’t many things that people will die over to the very end…. so just what did you do to this man Patrick?’ I questioned leaving that thought lingering in my head.

[Alright, that’s enough] I told him.

“Y-You’ll let me go?” He asked me as I nodded.

[Yes, I’ll also heal your friends up a bit.] I told him as I used Sakai to heal them all up to atleast Mid condition quickly.

“Th-Thank you…” He said as I nodded.

Mio then but a hand on his shoulder making him look towards her.

“Lady in black? D-Do you need somthing?” He asked her.

“The money.” Mio responsed.

“Oh, the money. Right… just a sec…huh?” He told her before she just snatched his pouch from him.

“L-Lady?” He questioned as he saw Mio pour all the pouches contents in her palm where a cloth was.

“Here.” She said giving him the now empty pouch.

“Eh…um… I-Its empty.” He told her sweat dropping.

“Interest.” She told him.

“I-Interest?” He questioned.

“Yes, interest.” She replied.

“Isn’t that a bit-” He cut himself off as Mio look at him.

“Interest.”She said as he bowed.

“Y-Yes ma’am please take the interest as well…”Lime said as he bowed to thr ground.

Mio came towards me with a smile as I could only sigh at how troubling this is.

Glancing down at the blade Lime had which was now in two. I decided knew a way to fix this.

[That broken blade of yours looks like it was pretty valuable, I’ll bring something to make up for it. So apologies for that.] I told him.

“Huh?” He questioned confused.

“There’s no need to do that, Young Miss.” Mio said as I just shrugged.

“Eh, I just want to use this chance to make use of some of my skills. Also, Tomoe, don’t! That’s just plain stealing.” I told the idiot Dragon who was planning of stealing stuff from the unconscious guys.

‘What a troublesome bunch I have…’I thought.

“Um… I don’t care about the sword or the money… I know this is selfish of me, but please Aria, help me with just one thing!” He said making me raise a brow in curiosity.

‘Hm? What is it now?’
