Chapter 6

Ellie’s POV:

I learned my newest sister’s name was Sarah, we picked up my stuff from the Hermes cabin, and went to my new home in the Apollo cabin. It was a normal wooden cabin, but it gleamed golden under the sun, with laurel carvings on the door. Walking in, I meet some of my other siblings, Austin and Kayla.

We all hung out, and they showed me around camp. When dinner came around, I wanted to sit with Percy, but my newfound siblings stopped me.

“We sit with our siblings, we don’t cross tables.” Kayla informs, and I frown.

“Why?” I ask her, and she shrugs.

“Its how the gods want it.” I frown at her words, stopping at Percy’s table.

“Sorry, I can’t sit with you, but find me after, yeah?” I ask him, and he smiles tightly. I sigh as I sit with the rest of the Apollo cabin. I play with my food as my sibling tells me the mealtime rules. When the bell rings for us, I put some of my mac and cheese in the fire, whispering my father’s name as I sit back down, taking small bites of my food.

When dinner was over, I looked over at the Hermes table to see Percy already running off. I frown, staying at the Apollo table. I know he’s upset. Our lives have turned upside down. We were supposed to have each other, but now we can’t even eat together.

“Hey, Sunshine.” Clarisse plops down next to me, leaning her back on the table as she gazes at me with a smirk.” Hear the name was fitting, Apollo, huh?” I nod, a smile spreading across my face, and she chuckles, poking my left dimple.”Your smile lights up the place. I should have known you were Apollo’s kid.” I blush looking at my plate, which I barely ate from.

She takes note of it.

“I know the first few days could be tuff but you should eat, starving yourself isn’t going to help.” I frown scrapping my fork against the plate.

” My stomach is in knots.” I tell her.” Things werent supposed to be this way.”

Clarisse stares at me for a moment, not saying anything.

“I get it.” She whispers.” Many of the kids here have a bad story attached to coming here, but you need to keep going. You’re not hungry, that’s fine, don’t eat. But find something you’re good at and perfect it, because one day it might just save your life. “

“Thanks.” I whisper to Clarisse, and she gives me a small smile.

“See you later, Sunshine.” Clarisse says, hopping back up.

“Later, gorgeous.” The words slip from my lips, causing the brunette to freeze and turn back to me with a flirty smile.

“I love the way you talk to me.” She purrs, she walks away with a sway to her hips, and I blush knowing it’s for me.

In bed, I toss and turn, my body restless, my mind going a mile a minute. I had a bad feeling. I sigh and sit up in my twin-sized bed. It’s the same feeling I’ve always gotten when Percy was up to trouble. I look around at my newfound siblings all tucked away and sleeping themselves. I get up, my feet touching the cold wooden floor, and I walk outside, not bothering to put on shoes.

My toes dig into the cool dirt, and I pull my hoodie around myself a little tighter. I look around, letting my intuition guide me, and I find myself outside one of the girls’ bathrooms.

I see a girl around my height standing outside, staring at the bathroom like she was waiting for something.

“Are you okay?” I ask the girl gently, and she flinches, turning to me.

“Im fine…” She tells me tensely starring at me hard.” Your brother isn’t… Clarisse has him.” She nods to the bathroom, and my eyes widen. I walk past her into the bathroom.

“What the hell?!” I shout as I walk in to see two of Clarisse’s siblings holding my brother’s head above the toilet.

I turn my glare to Clarisse herself who stood back and watched the scene; her smile drops at the sight of me.

“Let him go.” I demand, and she crosses her arms.

“I want him to admit it.” I frown at her words.

“Admit what?” I ask her with attitude, and she steps up chest to chest with me.

“That he’s a phony.” She spits the words out like acid.

I scoff at her words, neither of us noticing the groaning of the pipes.” A phony? My brother is a lot of things, but a phony isnt one of them.” I defend him.

Clarisse opens her mouth with a glare, and I scream as she’s hit with a jet of water. It hits her so hard that it throws her and her sibling back into the sinks to my right. I turn to Percy with wide eyes, my hands over my mouth as the stall around him were now destroyed, while my brother was unharmed, not a drop of water on him.

“Ellie, go back to bed. We don’t both need to get in trouble for this.” I shift on my feet, looking from him to Clarisse.” Now.” Percy says sternly and with a sigh, I walk out, the girl was gone, no where to be seen as I stomp towards my cabin, confused.

“Hey, Sunshine!” I roll my eyes as I hear Clarisse shout for me. It didn’t hold the usually fondness I took notice as I turned around to face her.” What the hell was that?” Clarisse growls, grabbing my arm roughly, and my eyes widen. I shove her back by the chest, and she stumbles, her own eyes widening in shock.

“I’ve had a shitty few days, Clarisse, so fuck off.” I warn her, she glares as I turn away from her planning to go to my cabin.

“Don’t ignore me!” She growls, grabbing me again and I snap at her.

” I’ve learned Im the daughter of Apollo, the woman who I thought was my mother is dead, and my twin brother isn’t even my brother at all. So if you want a fight, now isn’t the best time. I don’t have it in me, Im tired.” I tell her my exhaustion showing through my voice.

Clarisse let go of my arm, her face softening.” What’s your name?” She asks gently, and I shift, crossing my arms.

“Eliana.” I whisper, and she nods her lips, twitching.” You’ll be on the blue team for capture the flag.” I nod, some of my siblings were talking about it, Kayla telling me to just stick with her, but I told her I wanted to stick with Percy as we haven’t had much time together lately.” You know how to use a sword?” I shake my head, and she looks around.” If you give me a minute to change, I’ll teach you.” My lips twitch at her words, and I nod agreeing to a lesson.
