Chapter 12

Ellie’s POV:

Clarisse and I didn’t train alone this morning; this time, she had me going up against her siblings, starting with the weakest and moving up in ranks. I wasn’t awful at fighting, but I often hesitated, not wanting to hurt anyone.

I was quick and had stamina, which was good because I wasn’t the strongest. My tactic was often to dodge until my opponent got tired, especially if they were bigger and stronger, making it easier to get my own hits in.

After lunch, Clarisse brought the sword back out and went into a more in-depth lesson than the first one we had before capture the flag.

I listened intently, nervous of the sharp, heavy weapon I had to hold, and as soon as we started to practice, I learned I didn’t like it at all.

The clanging of the swords was loud, hurting my ears, and the vibration of metal on metal hurt my wrist, arm, and shoulder.

“Come on, raise your sword.” Marcus says with an evil grin, and I glare with a pout, rubbing my shoulder as Clarisse helps one of her younger siblings.

“No, it hurts. I don’t like this weapon.” I tell him, glancing at Clarisse, a little jealous that her attention wasn’t all on me today.

“You should try daggers and knives.” I turn around and smile as Luke walks towards me, holding a dagger. He passes it to me.

“Swords are good to keep people at a distance, but it’s a lot on the body if your to weak to use it properly.” Luke explains, and Marcus slowly walks off, annoyed.

I look down at the dagger in my hand and nod at his words.” The dagger is longer than a regular knife, which makes it easier to slash and defend against the opponent’s blade. I’ve been watching you, you’re quick, but you’re weak, your weapon of choice should fit the way you can fight.”

“You’re supposed to be fighting with a sword.” I flinch at the angry voice and turn to Clarisse. She glares at Luke, jaw tight, and he sighs.

“The swords to much for her.” Luke tells Clarisse, and the way the muscles in her shoulders tensed, I knew she was prepared to win this battle of words.

“I’ll decide whats to much for her.” Clarisse spits out at the taller man, anger leaking from her pores.

“You’re gonna get her hurt.” Luke defends, motioning to me, and Clarisse steps forward with a snarl.

“I’ll hurt you if you don’t leave her alone.” My eyes widen at the words she spits out.

“Clarisse, stop.” I tell her sternly, pulling her to take a step away from Luke. ” He’s only trying to help.”

Clarisse scoffs.” You want his help, fine, train with him!” Clarisse snaps and storms out of the training center.

I sigh, watching her leave.

“Im sorry, I didn’t mean to start a fight.” Luke apologizes, and I shake my head.

“Don’t apologize.” I tell him, and he nods.” She gets jealous. Take it as a compliment if anything, she sees you as a threat.” Luke smirks, chuckling lightly.

“Awesome.” He says sarcastically, and I chuckle. I nod in the direction Clarisse walks in.

“I should check on her.” Luke nods and waves me off. As I walk through camp, I ask people if they’ve seen Clarisse, all of them pointing in a direction or shrugging. In the end, I couldn’t find her.

At dinner, I kept an eye out, but she didn’t show.

“You okay?” Sarah asks me, and I shrug, pushing my food around.

“Clarisse stormed off. I haven’t been able to find her.” I mutter, tossing my fork to the side with a sigh.

“Isn’t that her?” Will says, and I snap my head up. He used his fork to point over my shoulder. I turned around, and sure enough, there she was, standing outside the pavilion, her shoulder leaning on a pillar as she stared at me.

She blinked out of her haze when our eyes met.

I watch her as she turns around and walks off. Annoyed I slap my hand on the table, before pushing myself up and stomping after her.

“Clarisse.” I call for him as she ignores me, and I scoff.” Clarisse La Rue, stop hiding from me!” I shout. She freezes, and turns around with a glare. I stomp up to her and jab my finger into her chest.” You don’t get to be mad at me, I didn’t do anything wrong!”

She looks up, taking a deep breath, she grabs my arm and drags me behind her, I take notice of the trail, as it was the trail we took to the open field.

She dragged me to the center, then plopped down. I sat next to her and stared at the side of her face.

“Im sorry.” She whispers, and I lean closer to her, reaching foward I tuck her curls behind her ears.” I get so angry.” She mutters, and I move closer to her.” I get crazy when it comes to you. I can’t stand him near you.”

I caress her face, brushing my nose along her jaw before I press my lips to her cheek. She turns to face me, pulling me closer, laying my legs over her lap.

She cups my face, bringing her lips to mine. “You make me feel full.” Clarisse mutters, pulling her lips from mine, and she combs my hair over my shoulder. I gasp as her fingers dig into my waist, pushing my hips to hers. I moan as her lips trail down my jaw and neck.

“You don’t have to worry about him, you don’t have to worry about anyone. I like you, Clarisse.” I moan as she nips my throat. She pushes me to lie on my back, straddling me, she caresses my body. Our hips crash together, chests pressed together as our lips melt into each others.

Her knee meets my heat, and I whimper against her lips, and she nibbles my bottom lip as I grind against her.

“Good girl.” Clarisse whispers into my ear, pressing her grin into my cheek.

She pulls away, and I groan.” You’re a bitch.” Clarisse laughs, before coming back down to hover over me, she grabs my wrists, roughly pushing them over my head, and I arch my back, wanting to be closer.

“What do you want?” Clarisse asks with amusement in her voice.

I whine in annoyance.” Your lips.” I tell her, and she smiles as she brings her lips to hover over mine, giving me a brief kiss. She brings her lips down to my ear.

“Where do you want them?” She asks, and I shiver as she kisses below my ear.

“Lower.” I say with a smirk, and she nips at my throat once more, and I giggle in excitement.

She trails down my body, moving my shirt up to kiss my belly.

“Lower.” I whisper, and the brown eyed girl smirks up at me. She unbuttons my jeans before pulling them down my thighs. She kisses my inner thighs, sucking on the skin, most likely leaving hickeys behind. I let out a breath as she pulls my underwear down, the cool air caressing me as the sun lowered in the sky.

“You really know how to drive me crazy.” I moan as she trails her pointer finger through my wet folds, and I only get louder when she attaches her mouth, sucking my clit into her mouth, and shoving her tongue as deep as she can.
