Chapter 9

The living room was dimly lit, fairy lights strung lazily across the ceiling, casting a warm, intimate glow over the group sprawled on the floor and couches. An assortment of drinks – cocktails, wine and a couple of craft beers – sat in the centre on top of a low coffee table cluttered with snacks and empty bottles.

Katseye was in rare form. Manon had dragged the group into a game night, and Dani had insisted on you join – promising it would be fun. You knew better, but the promise of teasing, laughter, and maybe a little harmless scandal was too tempting to refuse.

“Okay,” Manon announced, holding up a bottle. “Truth or drink?”

“Let’s get this party started,” Megan grinned, already looking dangerously mischievous.

The bottle spun. It landed on you.

You shot a glance at Dani, who gave you a slow, teasing smile.

Manon grinned wickedly. “Alright, what’s the naughtiest thing Dani’s done to you that the others don’t know about?”

Heat flooded your cheeks as the girls leaned in, sparkling with anticipation.

You glanced at Dani, whose lips twitched into a smirk.

“Well,” you began, “there was that one time she-“

Before you could finish, Dani interrupted with a low chuckle. “Babe, don’t spill everything.”

“Too late,” you grinned, “I already told them you left marks I still can’t explain at rehearsal.”

The girls howled with laughter, and Dani narrowed her eyes playfully. “Annoying girlfriend alert.”

“Your turn,” Dani said, pointing to Manon.

Manon rolled her eyes but smiled.

“Alright,” Dani said, “What’s the dirtiest thought you’ve had about someone in the studio?”

Manon’s eyes glittered with mischief. “Oof, okay, well…”

She leaned in and whispered something that made everyone laugh, but Dani’s eyes flicked to you – the way her jaw clenched ever so slightly telling you she was thinking about it.

“Okay okay,” Sophia piped up, “my turn… Lara?”

Lara grinned “hit me.”

Sophia’s grin went devilish. “Have you ever caught yourself fantasising about one of us? Be honest.”

Lara laughed nervously. “I… maybe. But it’s not like I’d say who!”

“Oh, come on!” Megan groaned. “We need to know!”

The teasing grew louder, voices overlapping, drinks flowing. You and Dani exchanged a look, Dani’s fingers twining with yours across the couch.

“Okay, new rule,” Yoonchae said suddenly. “Whenever you’re with Dani, no drinking when it’s your turn. You have to tell the truth.”

You rolled your eyes but smiled. “Fine by me.”

Dani laughed. “Scared, babe?”

“A little,” you admitted.

The bottle spun again. It landed on Dani.

Sophia’s eyes gleamed. “Alright, when was the last time you wanted to drop everything and-” she paused dramatically “-have your way with y/n right here?”

Dani’s cheeks flushed a rich shade of pink. She glanced at you – those smouldering eyes locking with yours, full of promise.

“Let’s just say,” Dani purred, “that every minute I’m not touching her is a damn crime.”

The girls whistled and clapped.

You leaned into Dani, whispering, “I’m definitely feeling the heat now.”

“Good,” Dani murmured back, lips brushing your ear “because this game’s about to get really interesting.”

*

The room was hot with laughter, the kind that came too easily when alcohol buzzed in your system and you’d long stopped pretending to play it safe. Pillows were thrown across the laps, the bottle in the centre lazily spinning again, this time landing on Megan.

Lara didn’t miss a beat. “What’s your favourite position?”

Sophia nearly choked on her drink.

The room exploded.

Megan, blinked slowly. “I didn’t realise we were gonna go there.”

“You knew what this game was!” Manon cackled.

Magan raised her glass like a toast. “Okay then, If I have to answer…”

She smirked. “Let’s just say I prefer control – from below.”

Dani let out a surprised laugh. “That is so on brand.”

“Next,” Magan said, tossing the spotlight off herself.

The bottle spun. It landed on you. Again.

“God, you’re a magnet tonight,” Manon teased.

“Okay,” she said, already wicked. “Describe, in detail, your last make-out session with Dani. Five-sentence minimum.”

Dani let out a groan, dragging a hand down her face. “You guys are so nosy.”

“Not our fault you’re the horniest relationship we’ve ever witnessed,” Sophia muttered.

You cleared your throat, eyes locking with Dani’s – whose expression was a mix of warning and I dare you.

You smirked.

“Well,” you started, “she pulled me into the hallway at the after-party-“

“Oh god,” Dani muttered.

“-pinned me against the wall, and kissed me like she forgot other people existed. Her hands were everywhere, and when I said I was hers, she made this sound I’ve never heard from her before.”

Every girl was screaming by sentence three.

“Keep going,” Megan begged.

You leaned in, eyes gleaming. “She bit my lip, whispered ‘say it again’, and didn’t stop touching me until I could barely stand.”

Dani sat frozen for a beat, jaw tight, her gaze burning into yours. “We’re leaving after thus round.”

“No you’re not,” Sophia said flatly. “Next spin!”

The bottle turned and landed on Dani.

Every head snapped towards her.

Sophia grinned like the devil. “Have you ever fantasied about y/n in the studio?”

Dani didn’t even blink. “Yes.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”

“Multiple times,” she said smoothly, leaning back on her elbows. “There’s something about her watching me with that ‘I know exactly how you sound when you’re begging’ look on her face that ruins my concentration.”

The room exploded.

“DANI!”

“HELP?!”

“THIS IS FILTH-“

“God, you two are insane.”

“Honestly,” Manon snorted, “we’ve reached the point where I expect to walk into the studio and find one of you straddling the mixing board.”

Dani grinned, leaning in so only you could hear the next line.

“That’s not a no, by the way.”

You choked on your drink, eyes wide.

“Anyway,” Lara said, still fanning herself with a bag of chips, “next question. Megan?”

Megan looked suspicious. “Yeah?”

“If you had to hook up with anyone in the band, who would it be?”

Megan took a long sip of her drink.

“I plead the fifth.”

Everyone booed.

“Coward!”

“Next!”

*

By the time the night wound down, the drinks were half-finished, the bowl of popcorn had been demolished, and every girl was flushed with either embarrassment, arousal, or both.

You and Dani were curled up together on the couch, her arm draped over your shoulders, your fingers tracing lazy circles on her thigh.

“You’re never allowed to play this game without me you know,” Dani murmured, her voice thick with heat.

“Jealous?”

“No. Just… territorial.”

“Good,” you whispered. “Because I still haven’t forgotten your studio fantasy.”

She groaned. “You’re going to kill me.”

You smiled against her neck. “That’s the plan.”
