Chapter 38
The night had started with laughter. The Katseye girls decided on a rare evening out together, piling into a cab and heading toward one of the city’s busiest clubs. The air was crisp, the streets were alive with neon signs and the thrum of bass spilling out from open doors.
Dani was already buzzing with excitement before they even arrived. She wore a short black dress that clung to her curves, paired with strappy heels that made her legs look endless. Her hair was styled loose and curly, catching the glow of the streetlights. You couldn’t help but stare as you walked side by side. You wore a fitted satin dress in deep emerald, the fabric smooth against your skin, paired with black heels that gave you a confident edge.
“You look fucking unreal,” Dani whispered, leaning close as they approached the club.
You smirked. “So do you. But don’t think I didn’t notice you already eyeing the bar.”
Dani grinned, unrepentant. “What can I say? Latina mami needs her tequila.”
Inside, the club was chaos – flashing lights, pounding music, bodies pressed together on the dance floor. The girls claimed a booth near the back, ordering a round of drinks. Sophia and Yoonchae were already laughing over cocktails, while Lara and Megan debated which shots to order. Manon leaned back, surveying the room with her usual calm.
Dani however, wasted no time. She downed her first tequila shot with dramatic flourish, slamming the glass onto the table. “Another!” she declared, her grin wide.
You shook your head, amused. “You’re going to regret this tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow doesn’t exist,” Dani replied, already reaching for another shot.
As the night wore on, Dani grew louder, her laughter spilling over the music. She danced with reckless abandon, pulling you onto the dance-floor, spinning you around until you were both breathless. Every few minutes, she leaned in, whispering something flirty in Spanish that you couldn’t quite catch.
“Dani,” you laughed, clutching her arm after another spin. “You’re drunk.”
“Drunk on you,” Dani shot back, pressing a sloppy kiss to your lips.
You rolled your eyes, though your smile betrayed you. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Ridiculously in love,” Dani corrected, wrapping her arms around your waist.
Back at the booth, Dani was relentless. She sat pressed against you, her hand on your thigh, her head resting on your shoulder. “You’re so fucking hot,” she whispered, loud enough for Sophia to snort across the table.
“Dani,” you hissed, trying to shush her.
“What?” she grinned, unbothered. “It’s true.”
Manon shook her head, amused. “She’s going to be impossible to deal with later.”
You sighed, brushing Dani’s hair back from her face. “Tell me about it.”

By the time you left the club, Dani was stumbling, her heels clicking unevenly against the pavement. You kept a steady arm around her, guiding her towards the waiting Uber, Dani leaning heavily against you, giggling.
“You smell so good,” she murmured, nuzzling your neck.
“Dani, we’re in public,” you whispered, trying not to laugh.
“I don’t care,” she said, pressing a kiss to your jaw. “You’re mine.”
In the Uber, Dani was a mess of affection. She curled against you, whispering nonsense in Spanish, peppering you with kisses. The other girls tried to ignore you, but Sophia muttered, “God, get a room,” earning a round of laughter.
You shook your head, amused and exasperated. “You’re going to be the death of me.”
Dani grinned, eyes half-lidded. “Worth it.”

The Uber pulled up to the Katseye house, headlights sweeping across the front steps. The girls spilled out in a chaotic mess of laughter and wobbling heels, voices carrying into the quiet street. Sophia was the first to stumble toward the door, clutching to Yoonchae’s arm for balance. Lara and Megan followed, still arguing over who had danced better at the club.
Dani was last to emerge, clinging tightly to your side. Her heels clicked unevenly against the pavement, her arm looped around your waist. “Don’t let go,” she whispered, her words slurred but affectionate. “You’re my anchor.”
You laughed softly, steadying her. “Come on, mami. Let’s get you inside before you collapse.”
Inside, the house was dim, the faint glow of the hallway light guiding them in. The girls scattered quickly – Sophia and Yoonchae disappearing upstairs, Lara and Megan collapsing onto the couch in a fit of giggles, Manon shaking her head as she headed toward her room.
Dani, however, refused to move without you. She clung to you, pressing sloppy kisses to your shoulder as you made your way down the hall. “You smell so good,” she murmured, nuzzling your neck.
“Dani,” you whispered, amused. “You’re drunk.”
Dani just giggled in response.
You reached Dani’s room, the door clicking shut behind you. Dani immediately flopped onto the bed, her dress riding up as she sprawled across the blankets. You sighed, shaking your head. “You can’t sleep in that. Come on, let’s get you into some pyjamas.”
Dani pouted, reaching for you. “But I like this dress. You like this dress.”
You laughed, tugging her upright. “I do. But you’ll thank me in the morning.”
Helping Dani out of her clothes was an ordeal. She giggled through the whole process, swaying unsteadily as you unzipped the back of her dress. “You’re undressing me,” she teased, voice low and playful. “Scandalous.”
You rolled your eyes, though your cheeks warmed. “You’re impossible.”
“And you love it,” she whispered, pressing a kiss to your jaw.
You slipped the dress off, folding it neatly on the chair. Dani stood in her underwear, grinning mischievously. “You’re staring.”
“Because you won’t stand still,” you muttered, grabbing the oversized t-shirt from the dresser. You pulled it over Dani’s dead, smoothing it down as Dani giggled.
“Comfy,” Dani declared, tugging at the hem. She immediately wrapped her arms around you, burying her face against your neck. “Bed now.”
You guided her back to the mattress, pulling the blanket over you both. Dani curled against you, touchy and insistent, her hands wandering even as her eyelids drooped.
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” Dani whispered, pressing sloppy kisses to your lips, your neck, your collarbone. “I can’t keep my hands off you.”
Her hands were everywhere – sliding along your waist, tugging at the hem of your shirt, fingers curling against your skin with clumsy urgency. Dani’s kisses grew hotter, messier, her mouth trailing down to your shoulder, then back up to your jaw. She giggled between kisses, whispering half-slurred Spanish phrases that you couldn’t quite catch, though the tone was unmistakably flirty.
“Dani…” You murmured, trying to steady her.
“What?” Dani grinned, eyes heavy-lidded but mischievous. “I want you. Right now.” She pressed another kiss to your lips, lingering, her hand sliding higher.
You caught her wrist gently, brushing her hair back. “You’re drunk, mami. You need to sleep.”
Dani pouted, leaning in again, her lips brushing your ear. “Nooo… I don’t wanna sleep. I want you.”
You laughed softly, kissing her forehead. “Tomorrow. I promise. Right now, you need rest.”
Dani groaned dramatically, collapsing against you, still peppering you with kisses. “You’re too good to me,” she whispered, her touch slowing as exhaustion began to win. She curled tighter against you, her hand resting possessively on your hip, her breathing uneven.
“Shh,” you soothed, pulling the blanket over you both. “I’ve got you.”
Dani mumbled something incoherent in Spanish, pressing one last kiss to your lips before her body finally relaxed. Within minutes, her breathing steadied, her grip loosening as sleep claimed her.
You lay beside her, amused and fond, brushing a strand through her hair. Dani’s drunken affection had been relentless, messy, and overwhelming – but in the end, she was yours, curled up and safe in your arms.
The chaos of the night faded into quiet comfort, the room filled with only Dani’s soft breathing and the warmth of her body pressed close.
