Chapter 43

The headquarters of the 7th Division stood like a fortress of steel and discipline—cold, precise, and intimidating. Soldiers moved in perfect rhythm, boots echoing against polished floors, salutes snapping sharply in the air. At the center of it all was Commander Jennie Kim, known across the base as a woman of unshakable authority, razor-sharp decisions, and a presence that could silence an entire room with just a glance.

So when word spread that a luxury car had just pulled up at the entrance—and that the CEO of Lloud Enterprise had stepped out—everyone straightened twice as much.

Lisa Manoban didn’t look the least bit intimidated.

Dressed in an elegant tailored suit, sunglasses perched on her nose, and confidence in every step, she walked into the base like she owned it—which, to be fair, she probably could if she wanted to. Guards scrambled to escort her, but she waved them off casually.

“I know the way,” she said with a small smile.

Because she did.

She had been here many times.

Just… not as the CEO.

Jennie was in the middle of a briefing when her assistant leaned over and whispered something into her ear.

Her expression—normally unreadable—froze.

“…She’s here?” Jennie asked quietly.

“Yes, ma’am.”

A pause.

The entire room felt the temperature drop.

“…Dismissed.”

The officers blinked.

“Ma’am?”

“I said dismissed.”

Chairs scraped quickly as everyone rushed out, confused but not daring to question further. The moment the door closed, Jennie let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding.

“She’s early…” she muttered.

Then she glanced at the clock.

No.

She was right on time.

Jennie just couldn’t believe she actually came.

Lisa pushed open the office door without knocking.

“Commander Nini—”

She barely got the words out before Jennie was already standing.

For a split second, the Commander was still there—sharp eyes, straight posture, unreadable expression.

Then Lisa took off her sunglasses.

And just like that—

Jennie melted.

“Lili…” she whispered, all authority gone.

Lisa grinned.

“There she is.”

Before Jennie could even process it, Lisa had already crossed the room and wrapped her arms around her, burying her face into Jennie’s shoulder like she had been deprived of affection for years.

“I missed you,” Lisa mumbled dramatically.

“It’s been six hours,” Jennie said, but her arms were already wrapping tightly around her wife.

“Exactly. Six very long hours.”

Jennie sighed, but her fingers instinctively threaded into Lisa’s hair, gently scratching her scalp.

“You said you’d eat lunch with me,” Lisa added, tilting her head up slightly.

“I always keep my promises.”

“Good,” Lisa smiled, eyes soft. “Because I brought food.”

Jennie blinked. “You brought—”

Lisa snapped her fingers.

The door opened again, and two assistants carefully walked in carrying neatly packed gourmet lunch boxes.

Jennie stared.

“…You brought an entire restaurant.”

Lisa shrugged. “You deserve it.”

Ten minutes later, the terrifying office of Commander Jennie Kim had transformed into something… suspiciously domestic.

Her desk was now filled with neatly arranged dishes, the scent of warm food filling the air. Lisa had already taken off her blazer, sitting comfortably on Jennie’s couch like she owned the place.

Which—again—she kind of did.

Jennie sat beside her, still trying to maintain some composure.

“You shouldn’t just walk in like that,” Jennie said softly.

Lisa turned to her with a playful look. “Why not?”

“This is a military base.”

“And?” Lisa leaned closer, eyes sparkling. “I’m visiting my wife.”

Jennie’s ears turned red.

“Lili…”

Lisa gasped dramatically. “Oh no, is Commander Nini embarrassed?”

“I am not—”

“You are,” Lisa giggled, poking her cheek. “The scary commander who makes grown men cry is blushing because her wife called her cute.”

Jennie turned her head away.

“…Eat your food.”

Lisa burst into laughter.

A few minutes passed in comfortable silence, the kind that only came with deep familiarity.

Lisa was happily eating, occasionally feeding Jennie despite her weak protests.

“You need to eat properly,” Lisa insisted, holding out a spoon.

“I can eat on my own.”

“Mhm,” Lisa hummed. “But I want to feed you.”

Jennie hesitated.

Then sighed.

And opened her mouth.

Lisa beamed like she had just won a major business deal.

“Good girl.”

Jennie choked.

“Lisa!”

“What?” Lisa grinned innocently. “Commander Nini follows orders well.”

Jennie covered her face.

“I cannot believe you…”

Lisa leaned closer, whispering teasingly, “You like it.”

“…Eat your food.”

After lunch, Lisa stretched out on the couch, her head naturally finding its place on Jennie’s lap.

Jennie didn’t even question it.

Her fingers immediately started playing with Lisa’s hair, gently combing through the soft strands.

Outside that office, Jennie was a commander.

Inside?

She was just Nini.

Lisa closed her eyes, smiling softly.

“You’re soft,” she murmured.

“I am not.”

“You are,” Lisa insisted. “Only for me.”

Jennie didn’t respond.

She didn’t need to.

Because her touch said everything.

Lisa peeked up at her. “Commander Nini?”

Jennie sighed. “Yes, baby?”

Lisa grinned sleepily. “Baby talk me.”

Jennie froze.

“…Lisa.”

“Please?”

“You’re unbelievable.”

Lisa pouted.

And that was Jennie’s weakness.

“…What do you want me to say?”

Lisa snuggled closer into her lap. “Just talk.”

Jennie hesitated, glancing at the door like someone might burst in at any moment.

But then she looked down at Lisa.

Her wife.

Her everything.

And her voice softened into something no one on this base had ever heard before.

“My Lili came all the way here?” she murmured gently, brushing Lisa’s hair back. “Hmm? Missed me that much?”

Lisa melted instantly.

“Mhm…”

Jennie smiled faintly. “Such a clingy baby…”

Lisa giggled quietly, hiding her face.

“That’s because Commander Nini doesn’t come home early,” she mumbled.

Jennie’s expression softened.

“I’ll try to,” she whispered.

“You better.”

“I will.”

A knock suddenly echoed on the door.

Jennie immediately straightened.

“Come in.”

The door opened slightly, a soldier stepping in.

“Ma’am, the afternoon—”

He stopped.

His eyes widened.

Because there, in front of him, was Commander Jennie Kim…

…with the CEO of Lloud Enterprise curled up on her lap.

Lisa glanced over lazily and waved.

“Hi.”

The soldier looked like his soul left his body.

Jennie cleared her throat.

“Yes?”

“Ma’am—I—uh—should I come back—?”

“Yes.”

“Immediately.”

“Yes, ma’am!”

The door slammed shut.

Silence.

Then—

Lisa burst into laughter.

“Oh my god, his face!”

Jennie covered her eyes.

“I’m going to lose my reputation.”

Lisa sat up slightly, wrapping her arms around Jennie’s neck.

“No, you won’t,” she said softly.

Jennie looked at her.

Lisa smiled gently.

“You’ll just gain a new one.”

“What kind?”

Lisa leaned in, pressing a soft kiss on her lips.

“The commander who belongs to me.”

Jennie exhaled softly against her lips, her hand coming up to hold Lisa’s waist.

“…Only you.”

Lisa grinned.

“Good.”

Then she nuzzled into her again like a satisfied kitten.

“And don’t forget, Commander Nini…”

Jennie raised an eyebrow.

“I expect cuddles when you get home.”

Jennie smiled—soft, warm, and completely hers.

“Yes, ma’am.”
