Chapter 6

You woke up to the soft sunlight slipping through half-closed blinds. Dani’s arm draped lazily over your waist, her breath slow and even against your neck.

The fairy lights above her head were still glowing faintly – she’d probably forgotten to turn them off again. Her room was warm with the familiar smell of her shampoo and worn fabric softener, and somewhere out in the house, the faint clatter of kitchen cabinets meant at least one member of Katseye was already up and making noise.

You shifted slightly.

“Don’t,” Dani mumbled, voice thick with sleep. “You’re warm.”

“You’re clingy.”

“Shut up and let me cling.”

You laughed softly, turning in her arms to face her. Her hair was a mess, her eyeliner faintly smudged from the night before, and she looked stupidly good in the morning light.

“You’re staring,” she said

“You’re hot.”

Dani grinned, pulling you closer. “That’s better.”

You lay there for a few more minutes in that cosy, post-sleep haze until a loud knock rattled the door.

“I swear to god if you’re still horizontal-” came Sophia’s voice.

“We are!” Dani yelled back proudly.

“Breakfast is ready, and if I have to witness your love-fest for one more than two minutes this morning, I’m throwing you both out the window.”

“I’m wearing your hoodie again,” you said to Dani as you sat up, tugging on the familiar oversized black one you grabbed last night.

“Good,” she smirked. “Mark your territory.”

*

In the kitchen, chaos reigned.

Lara was making pancakes.

Megan was arguing with Yoonchae about the proper ratio of milk to cereal.

Manon was standing in front of the toaster like she was staring into the void.

And Sophia, holding a coffee mug like it was the only thing keeping her alive, immediately zeroed in on you and Dani.

“Oh look,” she said. “The human embodiment of a soft launch and a sex playlist.”

You took a seat next to her at the table, while Dani wandered into the kitchen to steal pancake scraps and flirt with you across the room.

“She hasn’t even said good morning to anyone else,” Yoonchae pointed out, tossing Dani a strawberry.

“She’s said plenty to her girlfriend,” Manon muttered, pulling her toast from the toaster and glaring at it like it had personally offended her. “Through walls. Last night. At full volume.”

Dani just grinned, unfazed as usual. “What can I say? We have excellent communication.”

You bit your lip, trying not to laugh. “She means moaning.”

Sophia gagged dramatically. “I need a refund on this conversation.”

*

The rest of the morning passed in sleepy, cosy vibes.

Pyjamas stayed on. Blankets migrated from rooms to the couch. Someone put on a bad early 2000s rom-com, and no one objected. You and Dani stayed curled together on the far end of the couch, her arm looped around your waist, her fingers tracing over your thigh, your hip, the curve of your waist.

Every now and then, her lips would brush your shoulder – soft, casual, but lingering.

“You two are in heat,” Lara muttered at one point, flipping through channels. “Go touch grass.”

“Or each other – just not here,” Megan added.

“You’re just jealous because you’re single,” Dani said smugly, tightening her grip on your waist.

“You know what I’m jealous of?” Manon asked from the floor, eyes still on the TV. “Noise cancelling headphones.”

*

The afternoon turned lazy in the best way.

Dani dragged you into her room for a ‘nap’ that was absolutely not a nap. She kissed you like she hadn’t all morning – slow, deep, teasing – her fingers sliding under the hem of your hoodie, tugging gently, silently asking for more.

You gave in. You always did with her.

But then Sophia knocked again, this time without even trying to sound patient.

“If you’re gonna have a full-blown honeymoon phase, book a hotel,” she yelled.

You groaned into Dani’s neck. “They’re going to start a petition.”

“They love us,” she whispered back, breath warm against your skin. “They just don’t know it.”

*

Evening settled in like honey – slow and golden.

The house was quieter now. Most of the girls had retreated to their rooms, or were wearing headphones, or just passed out on the floor in a post-snack coma.

You were in Dani’s lap again – it was basically a second home – and her fingers were combing through your hair as the TV flickered low in the background.

Then Dani leaned in.

“I’m stealing the tub tonight,”

You blinked. “You’re what?”

“Everyone’s distracted. Let’s go before Sophia tries to exfoliate for two hours.”

“You want me to take a bath with you in this house?”

“I want you to do worse,” she whispered, lips brushing against your jaw. “But we’ll settle for water and bubbles and me with my hands on you.”

You didn’t even hesitate.

The bathroom was dim, lit by the soft orange glow of the hallway light leaking through the cracked door.

The tub filled with warm water and lavender-scented bubbles – Dani’s doing. She was already sinking into the water when you walked in, hoodie now on the floor, wearing one of her tank tops and a pair of her boxers you’d definitely claimed by now.

“Get in,” she said, reaching for you.

You stripped the rest of your clothes off and stepped in carefully, settling between her legs, her arms pulling you back against her chest, the hot water wrapping around you both like a secret.

She kissed your shoulder. Then your neck. Then just under your ear.

“Finally,” she whispered. “Alone.”

“Kind of.”

“I locked the door.”

“Smart.”

Her hands slid over your stomach, slow and slick beneath the water, and you let out a soft breath, leaning back into her.

It wasn’t just about tension – though there was plenty of that – it was about intimacy. About trust. About how her touch wasn’t just possessive, but comforting, Intentional.

She pressed a kiss to the curve of your jaw – her voice low and sweet.

“You’re my favourite part of the day, you know that?”

You turned your head to look at her. “Yeah?”

“Mm-hmm. Even when the girls are ready to riot. Even when you steal all my clothes. Even when you make me insane.”

You smiled. “You like insane.”

“I love insane,” she said, kissing you again – slower this time, no teasing, no smirk, just the soft ache of something real.

You melted into her.

And in that too-small bathtub, in that too-loud louse, you had everything you needed.

———-

Nothing too fancy about this one – just a cute day at the Katseye house 🙂

Anyways, hoped you enjoyed it nevertheless xoxo
