Chapter 32

Jennie had learned many things about her wife over the years.

Lisa was observant. Thoughtful. Ridiculously affectionate in private and effortlessly cool in public. She remembered the smallest details—Jennie’s favorite coffee temperature, the exact way she liked her pillows fluffed, the brand of candles that helped her sleep.

Lisa was also, unfortunately… a little too literal sometimes.

Which is how Jennie found herself standing in front of an entire Chanel boutique, blinking like her brain had short-circuited.

But let’s rewind.

It started on a lazy Sunday morning.

Jennie was sprawled across their bed, wrapped in silk sheets, lazily scrolling through her phone while Lisa sat beside her, half-dressed and still damp from the shower, tying her hair into a loose ponytail.

“Lili,” Jennie hummed, voice soft and slightly pouty—the tone she used when she wanted something.

Lisa immediately looked up. “Hmm?”

Jennie turned her phone, showing a picture of a sleek black Chanel bag. “I want a Chanel.”

Lisa leaned closer, studying it with full attention like it was a business proposal.

“A Chanel,” she repeated, nodding slowly.

Jennie smiled, satisfied. “Yeah.”

Lisa kissed her temple. “Okay.”

That was it.

No follow-up questions. No clarification.

Jennie didn’t think twice about it—because normally, Lisa just knew.

Three days later, Lisa told her to dress nicely.

“No questions?” Jennie teased as she slipped on her heels.

Lisa just smiled, that soft, slightly mysterious smile that always made Jennie suspicious.

“Just trust me.”

Jennie raised an eyebrow. “I always do. That’s the problem.”

The drive was longer than expected.

Jennie noticed they weren’t heading toward any of her usual shopping districts.

“Lili… where are we going?”

“You’ll see,” Lisa said casually, one hand resting on the steering wheel, the other gently holding Jennie’s.

Jennie narrowed her eyes but let it go.

When the car finally stopped, Jennie stepped out first.

She adjusted her sunglasses, glanced up—

—and froze.

A pristine, elegant storefront stood before her.

White facade. Clean glass panels. Minimalist luxury.

And right in the center, in bold black letters:

CHANEL

Jennie blinked.

Then blinked again.

“Lisa,” she said slowly, not looking away. “Why are we at a Chanel store?”

Lisa stepped beside her, looking completely calm.

“I bought it.”

Jennie laughed.

A short, confused laugh.

“…What?”

Lisa turned to her, as if she had just said something completely normal. “You said you wanted a Chanel.”

Jennie’s brain stalled.

“I—I meant a bag.”

Lisa tilted her head slightly. “Oh.”

Silence.

Jennie waited.

Lisa just stood there.

Jennie grabbed her shoulders. “Lalisa Manoban.”

“Yes?”

“Tell me you’re joking.”

Lisa shook her head gently. “I already signed the papers yesterday.”

Jennie’s mouth opened.

Closed.

Opened again.

“You—what?”

Lisa reached for her hand, completely unfazed. “Come on, I want to show you inside. It’s yours now.”

“Mine?!”

Jennie didn’t even remember walking in.

The staff immediately lined up, greeting them with polite bows.

“Good afternoon, Ma’am.”

Jennie looked behind her.

“Who are they talking to?”

Lisa squeezed her hand. “You.”

Jennie turned back, eyes wide.

“This is not funny.”

“I’m not joking,” Lisa said softly.

Jennie walked further in, heels clicking against the polished floor, heart pounding louder with every step.

Everything was… perfect.

The displays. The lighting. The arrangement.

“This is a fully operating store,” Jennie whispered.

“Yeah,” Lisa nodded. “Prime location too.”

Jennie turned to her slowly.

“You bought me… a whole Chanel store… because I said I wanted a Chanel?”

Lisa blinked. “Yes.”

Jennie stared.

“…Lisa.”

“Yes, love?”

“I wanted a bag.”

Lisa’s lips parted slightly.

“Oh.”

Jennie waited.

Lisa processed.

A beat passed.

“…Do you still want the bag?”

Jennie made a strangled noise.

“I cannot believe you.”

They were now sitting inside the private office at the back of the boutique.

Jennie had both hands on her face, trying to recover from the shock.

Lisa sat beside her, gently rubbing her back like Jennie was the one who had done something dramatic.

“I thought you meant the brand,” Lisa said quietly.

Jennie dropped her hands. “Who asks for a brand, Lisa?!”

“You do,” Lisa replied immediately.

Jennie paused.

“…Okay, that’s fair.”

Lisa smiled, a little sheepish now. “I didn’t want to get it wrong.”

Jennie stared at her again.

“You got it extremely wrong.”

Lisa leaned closer, resting her forehead against Jennie’s shoulder. “Are you mad?”

Jennie sighed.

“No.”

“Really?”

Jennie turned her head, looking at her soft, slightly worried wife.

“You bought me an entire Chanel store,” she said. “How am I supposed to be mad?”

Lisa brightened a little.

“So you like it?”

Jennie huffed a laugh. “Like it? Lisa, I’m still trying to process it.”

Lisa wrapped her arms around her waist. “If you don’t want it, I can—”

“Don’t you dare return it.”

Lisa blinked. “Okay.”

Jennie leaned back, finally letting it sink in.

“…This is insane.”

Lisa pressed a kiss to her cheek. “You deserve insane things.”

Jennie looked at her.

“…Why don’t you ever complain?”

Lisa frowned slightly. “About what?”

“About me,” Jennie said softly. “My wants, my… random requests.”

Lisa looked genuinely confused.

“Why would I complain?”

Jennie smiled faintly. “Because I’m a lot.”

Lisa shook her head immediately.

“You’re everything.”

Jennie’s heart did that stupid flutter again.

Lisa continued, voice gentle but certain:

“And I love you. That’s it.”

Jennie stared at her for a long moment.

Then suddenly—

She pulled Lisa into a tight hug.

“You’re ridiculous.”

Lisa laughed softly against her shoulder. “Only for you.”

Jennie pulled back just enough to look at her.

“…I still want the bag.”

Lisa nodded instantly. “I’ll get you ten.”

Jennie rolled her eyes, smiling now. “Just one is fine.”

Lisa leaned in, whispering—

“I’ll still get you ten.”

Jennie laughed, finally, fully.

Somewhere between shock and disbelief and overwhelming love.

Because of course Lisa would do something like this.

And of course Jennie would fall for her all over again because of it.
